Anybody else mad enough to be doing this 4 day ride?

Seemed like a good idea at the time........... :-/

Day 1: 4 + 16 + 15 + 19 + 15 = 69Km

Day 2: 5 + 14 + 36 = 55Km

Day 3: 6 + 20 + 22 = 48Km

Day 4: 36Km

Nice. Gets easier with each day. Vertical doesn't look so bad either. Bring it on! Laughing out loud

I was sort of hoping for a Snowy Mountains MTB trip in Jan, but this could just as well do Eye-wink

ah well take the wife Smiling thats how it works for me.
Well we'll take lots of pictures.
Not an inexepnsive exercise I must say, but a good way to see some of Tassy.
Any good tips on bike boxes beyond the obvious cardboards from the LBS or Qantas?

and MTB-ing as well...

Wildside is apparently an awesome race, would be keen on doing it but am hoping to get a berth in this...

strangely attractive and horrifying - fascinating looking race. The ratio of starters to finishers is staggeringly low.
Goodness they always seem like a good idea from the comfort of the couch.
Not many Aussies or Kiwis on that ride - what a fantastic epic. Do you know any who have done it?

good to see that this race is back on after 1 year break - i did this a couple of years back so if you need any advice...

advice gratefully accepted - I have only once done a multi-day event, about erm 8 years ago (goodness doesn't seem that long!)
Kiwigirl and I are not planning on being competitive as Masters, just want to enjoy the ride and have a good time while of course testing ourselves.
So, please do share any pearls of wisdom you may have on this..
