rant
hello all,
Just dropping a few lines about something that concerns me because most of the people on nobmob seem to care about trail advocacy etc as much as i do. When i set up the forum illegal tracks which had varied responses i let the issue go for a while but now i am considering taking photos of the illegal area because that same bloke in the video was today out riding on manly dam. With the excellent signage by the council (in allambie anyway)saying the track is closed this bloke and a mate rode past at least two at cootamundra drive and southern cross way respectively at around 11 o clock (sunday). I was out running the dog at the time and i ran from cootamundra to southern cross to double check that it was that same guy but there was no mistaking him. Obviously i cannot prove it but if anyone know the guy they could ask why he was riding a rain sensative track after record amounts of rain so ijust thought i would let you know because it really annoys me people disregarding the council and lowering the status of mtbers,
cheers,
will

You never know it might not have been him, plenty of mountain bikers look the same, and have the same bikes/helmets.
The Video you speak of, the trails where not what you would call illegal anyway, at most informal or old unused walking trails.
As for people that are riding on trails prone to severe erosion after rain, just talk to them when you see them, or design a thread about benefits of staying off said trails when they are still wet. Or even work with council to make a nice IMBA trailhead sign stating the benefits.
Posting it on a public isn'tm isnt helping anyone
p.s The status of mountain bikers is not going to be lowered by the minority, when the majority are doing the right thing and the council can see that.
p.s.s Walking on trails after rain damages trails too!
Posting it up on here isn't going to fix the problem but could cause a lot of negative thoughts for any non Mtb'ers who look at this site hoping to find negative posts!
