What do I do?
Got a problem with my lever on my Downhill Mountain bike.
First the lever for my front brake works fine so thats all good. But when using my back brake i have to pull on it harder to get the same effect? as soon as i have pulled it to a certain spot it works fine but it doesnt leave much room for my fingers?! is there a way i can make it so that i dont have to pull as far to brake? cause im being forced to use two fingers for the back brake due to the lack of space for my finger!
does that make any sense^ ? haha

Prefer mine close to the bar (less arm pump). I run them in bye on the bar so only 1 finger nestles into the end of the lever (also gives better leverage than grabbing it mid lever)
Alternatively most brakes have a lever reach adjustment. What brakes are they?
Some have a little grub screw in behind the lever (this is actually the push rod that activates the piston) a 2mm allen key can be used to adapter the lever in or out.
Others will have an extra knob, wheel somewhere to do the same thing on the fly.
If that still doesn't fix it it may need to be bleed
Same as Flynny, I prefer mine close to the bar. Mine are set to that they engage when the flat blade of the lever is parallel to the grip.
I've also moved mine well inboard so that I can brake with just the undex finger in the little hook at the end of the brake lever.
This gives me three fingers on each hand to control the bike, which allows me to be more relaxed with my grip, reducing arm pump, and I don't have to extend my fingers out so far to find the lever, so my tendons don't scream at me by the end of the ride/race.
