arrived at the track in a blanket of fog ,I suspected we were to have a sunny day ahead and I was not dissapointed. We were entered in team 4 masters but as we were the only team in this cat we had to run in mens open team 4. we made an OK start avoiding most of the traffic into the first single track and rode a steady pace throughout the day doing single laps with no mechanicals ,a minor stack for Doc which didn't seem to affect his lap time ,we kept punching out consistant times throughout the day with Paul and I both getting into the low 30's, toward the end our pace slowed a bit during the night laps ,we were very happy with our position at the finish and enjoyed the day , also liked the track a lot with it's mix of fast and technical sections made it a challenge to do a lap without stopping on some climbs, well done to WSMTB and rocky trail for a great event, also congratulations to nobmobbers who got on the podium ,Tate and his team won outright also chicka's team and Steve01 and his mixed team also made the podium.

Craig, You sure you didn't scare off all of the masters teams when they heard you put a teams entry in? I was hoping we would get on the podium but being in the open division with Tate and his mates made it a bit difficult.
Anyway good to see we were quicker than the mixed nuts boys who won last year.

Possibly most over 40's who think racing MTB is a good idea are considered looney by friends and family, making it difficult to find like minded people to team up with.I would fit this scenario If it wasn't for nobmob, I saw a lot of over 40's in the results most were solo or teamed with younger people . Notice Steve01's team were all masters including the 1 female member? and they finished in front of our team. Smiling

Yep - it was a great day. Good weather, good track, good racing. Congrats to all who competed - and special thanks to Rocky Trails for running such an efficient event.

But look at the results for the WSMTB Junior team - these 13 and 14 year olds punched out 22 laps!! To put that into perspective, they would have placed 8th in the Mens Fours. Watch out senior riders - these guys are on your tail.

Well done guys. Craig you seem to go pretty damn quick on these "shorter" courses - need to get myself in your time some time! Doc followed up his stack at The Mont with a stack at the 12 hours? Ouch.

Well done. Never been to Dargle, sounds like an awesome time had by all.

Yep, Dargle was a great day ! Congrats to all who participated and I would recommend it to anyone. It was great to see the junior guys getting stuck in and doing well.

I'll need to get used to these shorter courses at maximum heart rate...makes it a bit harder when you are on the limit and get loose through the obstacles......anyhow only a little bit of skin lost. Not sure what it all really means, but I set a new TRIMP high score beating the previous highest set at the Fling last year

Yeah, when I was talking to Steve they were just as surprised as we were that no other masters teams of 4 showed up. They were always transitioning just in front of us although towards the end they seemed to pull out a bit more time. Dam fine effort.
