Ok, so its a long weekend coming up and I'm going to take the opportunity to do the Oaks under lights. Rugby Saturday night so Sunday is the go, (sorry but the league doesn't rate on my radar).

Please note that the time posted is the train time so make sure you are there with plenty of time to get sorted, onto the platform and get a ticket, thats Glenbrook station for those that don't know.

I'm not planning this as a fast paced training ride, but more of a social paced one. If you want to have a training ride then maybe set up another post as a ride up from Glenbrook and meet us at the Woodford Gate around 7.05pm.

You will need reasonable lights that have a burn time of around 3hrs, no I don't plan on being out that long but nor do you want to ride the sniggle with no lights because we stopped for a mechanical.

Not sure what will be open around there after the ride, particularly given it is Sunday, so bring a beer on ice for after.

Hope to see a good turn out.

Envious of those that do this ride.
I have a mates 40th that I'm going to. Mind you the thought of beer instead of riding, hmmmmmm

don has the manners to rate the football Stuart - OBVIOUSLY you aren't a Manly supporter!!! I won't be at either ride because i am going to the grand final and am sooooooooo excited!!
I am sure places will be open for a drink though since Sunday is Grand Final night - you know you will have no moon don't you?

MEEEE Smiling

"that luminous spot in the night sky" won't be there to guide us?

Damn, I'll just have to use my lights won't I, now which set shall I take? Eye-wink

she will be at the grand final in a state of high enthusiasm (was going to say excitement but then realised i was replying to YOU!) because Manly are going to win!! - hopefully!
but i will think of you guys riding up that last hill as i leap about with joy !!!

enjoy your ride - see if you can get cupcake to have a beer afterwards - last night he spashed out and had two!!!! Smiling

Well it seems that the ride was more worthwhile given that scoreline Christine Smiling

Thanks Stuart for organising. Sure is a different experience at night!

however! i am still sure i picked the more fun night - it was like a giant brookvale oval there last night... i am choosing to ignore the score since at least we GOT to the grand final and none of the other teams did
go manly - next year is our year!!!!

i did the oaks at night last night with my scott 24hr team mates, i forgot how much fun the oaks at night is, we moved along at a steady pace until the clearing, hooned down the firetrail at 50km/h, awesome at night with a few others around you hoping that a wallabie/kangaroo or large rock doesnt jump out in front of you. We hit the single trail hard averaging about 30-35km/h on the sniggle down to the causeway. I think we did about 1hr 30 train station to train station, which included a few brief stops to regroup and chat, not bad i though for a full night ride.
We all ran ayups on bar and helmet, with a misture of beams, seems as though medium on the bars and narrow on top was the preferred option, anyway just thought i would share,
you can get back to work now
