DH track
NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
I went to MuniBung Mt today (just behind Macquarie hills and next to Lake lands) it has a very good potential for a "Snakes & Ladder" type climb and an awesome single track Downhill.
I still prefer Jesmond as a Downhill spot and i was just wondering hw things are going with the council towards getting permission to dig in Jesmond.

just start digging. i hardly ever see people on bikes up there. just dont tell to many people where it is
where abouts were you thinking of making a dh track?
Please do not start digging because nobody has ever been seen there. That's a terrible way to bolster our position as caring responsible people who enjoy the environment.
A few guys on this forum were instrumental in getting Old Man Valley up and running so they might be able to help.
Simon at Trailcare may be able to help as well.
If you're really keen to get into building DH track, get onto Rotorburn and look for a guy called Bikesarefun.
Big red, please edit your post. We don't posts like this on a public forum.
Thanks
sorry if i was wrong in saying that
Matt P, There are already significant steps being made with respect to getting legal trails in the area in question. The land manager is on board but as with all trail areas, timing is the key thing and I agree that any illegal digging does not help the cause.
Sounds like NSW will eventually join the rest of the world when it comes to quality legal trails!
i cant edit the comment. maybe contact the admin and get them to remove it? and also, where is old mans valley?
Matt, we are doing pretty well in the Hunter. Close to Newcastle there is Awaba and Glenrock, then moving inland there is dungog, singleton, James estate.
I know of four other areas across multiple land managers that are close to coming online as well.
Things are improving quickly in NSW.
2 questions
What is James estate like?
What and where is Old Mans Valley?
Cheers!
James Estate is awesome. Its not a DH trail by any stretch though. Fair drive to get to it.
Old Mans Valley is some trail on Council land in Hornsby. I've not been sown yet, but its supposed to be awesome.
