New rims for anthem XO 2009
Hi.
Not sure if this is the place to ask but will give it a try.
I have a Anthem XO 2009 XC mountain bike (http://www2.giant-bicycles.com/en-au/bikes/mount...) and was wanting to buy a second set of rims to use for riding to work, so that I don't have to change tyres, etc.
Currently using Maxxis Xmark UST 26x2.1 tubeless for XC and a set of Continental city tyres 26x1.5 with (with tubes) for commuting (http://www.wiggle.co.uk/continental-comfortconta...).
I plan to use the existing Mavic Crossmax SL UST Tubeless Disc wheelset for XC, but want some good but not too expensive rims (front and rear for commuting), e.g. maybe $200-$300+ per set (currently ride 20km/day). There are a heap at http://www.wiggle.co.uk/mtb/performance-wheels/ but I don't really know what would suit this bike.
Also, would need a second rear cassette for the new rims - should I simply buy the same as currently exists (Shimano Deore XT 9 speed 11-34T), and should I buy a second chain to swap with the wheelset (so that the chains wear evenly when swapping? Is this an issue?).
A lot of questions I know.
But thanks if you can help.

have u had a look at ebay there are some on there going cheep ?
Of Giant rims off a 2011 Anthem you can have for $150.
Brand new, never been used.
Also, if you're using both sets of wheels, each with their own cassettes about 50% of the the time then the cassettes and chain should wear at about the same rate and mesh together ok.
Ok, that sounds good. Are they the Shimano XT UST Deore w/15QR, i.e. that comes standard with the Anthem X1? I assume the rear wheel needs a cassette?
Looks like you are in NSW/ACT, so I guess they would need to be posted?.
Dont think they're that good?

Thats the bike they're off!
Thought that might be the case. Do they come with the brake rotors and rear cassette? If so I'll need to see if they will fit my brakes, if not I'll need to look at buying some.
Thanks
160mm rotors and a very heavy cheap cassette, but it is brand new so you might just keep it on if its only for commuting?
Let me know and i'll find out how much they'd cost to ship.
Thanks, I'll have to buy a rear rotor as for some reason the Anthem X0 has 6" on the front and 5" on the back. I have asked about another set over east, so will have to wait till they get back to me. Will let you know the outcome here and via PM.

Cheers!
