Yet another new 29er....
Here she is (with one ugly dude, and Mark from Jet Cycles in Sydney)
Finished it off today. Thanks to Jet and to Mark and also Specialized.
XL S-Works Epic XX 29er.
Its pretty much completely stock other than a few personal 'mods'.
I cant wait to put some horsepower through it.

Very nice. Same weight (or maybe just a bit lighter) as my 29er HT. Can't wait to hear how she rides.

Well - I've ridden it.
Yesterday at Wingello with some mates in the rain, and then today in the sun at Stromlo.
Wow. One hell of weapon.
The scales were correct. I was out of the box at 10.2kg - with innertubes. I just changed a few bits, and dropped the tubes out.
I'm delighted. No excuses anymore.
What else did you change to knock the extra weight down?
@Steve01, so what did you get?
well - there are two changes visible in the weights photo - seatpin and saddle.
The combo I am running is less than 300grms.
The saddle the bike came with alone was 250(ish) - but probably extremely comfortable. The seatpin is also somewhere that weight can be saved.
Grips - incredibly, nearly 100grms can be saved there too.
Marginal gains.
Frankly though - the bike is incredibly well spec'd out of the box. I can see little room for further shaving. Maybe the cables / outers (perhaps 50grms), and if crazy, I could save like 40grms on the bars - but at huge expense.
I could also switch to a 140mm rear rotor. THats a very small saving for a dramatic reduction in performance, so probably wont go there.
Its really a bike that you can take out of the box, screw in some pedals (Crank Bros 4Ti) and just head straight to the startline. I'm really chuffed.
Oh - and the Hardtail sold quick too. Joy all round.

but funnily enough the most comfortable seat for my fat arse is a Selle Italia SLR at 125grams so more padding doesn't doesn't always mean a better saddle. Looks like you've got the same.
