Finally after a few attempts I finished a 100 klm enduro even in training I hadn't done more than 75 klm so to finish 110 klm was a great feeling, I know it was much slower than most of you guys but I just wanted to finish so tried to keep heart rate around 80% and enjoy the trails which were great, thank you hue for a great event will do it again next year hopefully quicker and now I know the track a bit better I can hammer the single track a bit harder . Now back to training for Dirtworks 100 next may

ahhh yes; that feeling of finishing your first Enduro event.. more so when its actually much longer than you have ever ridden before. (i know about that) and doing it in a great one like the Fling, not one of those other nancy flat ones Smiling

well done!

Now if only that feeling as you cross the line was something they could put in a bottle..

A Major accomplishment and well done.

In regards to the feeling when you finish, I am glad they don't bottle it, as by the end of most marathons I am literally so spent and have so much fatigue that even getting off the bike is a mission.

Well done for finishing.

great work Armo - the great things about the MTB marathons there is something in the event for everyone.

One of the reasons I like doing them, is so you experience different courses, tracks and scenery. a Great change from going round in circles at one of the mtb parks.

Now that you have baselined your time, you've got a great target for next year.

It's quite an adventure just getting to the finish in your first enduro. I remember how under prepared my mates & I were when we did the first Dirtworks at St Albans. Our longest ride prior was probably 30km. We took about 4 gels each, our 20kg bikes and had a fantastic day out. I recall the sun setting as we rode across the finish line in 9:51!

Well done on getting to the finish. As Dicko said, you've set the baseline for next year!
