armed with my disinfectant!!!
That one would have been just too easy
So is this starting from the Tavern or from the shops?
Ben
Isn't that the same?
Could somebody else answer that, I'll have Liam as my guide, not sure where you guys normally meet up?
The regular night rides originally met at the shops, but then they changed nights to Wednesdays, and then they changed locations to meeting at the pub. Then the regular night rides swapped locations, (Manly Dam to suit the one afraid of catching the horse flu) and also went back to the Tuesday nights and became the regular normal night ride, which I must note have not been regular this week atleast. Then someone started doing a ride on Thursdy nights at TH, starting at the original spot of the shops.
The sometimes regular and sometimes normal Wednesday night ride, which has now been running without skipping a beat for some months, now ALWAYS starts and ends at the Terry Hills Tavern. There is some conjecture among those that attend these rides exactly where to park at the Tavern but the general concensus is pre ride you park in the Tavern carpark on the Mona Vale road or Bottle shop side of said tavern. Post ride, cars are moved to the "northern" side of the Tavern so that bikes can be viewed while ales are consumed in the beer garden.
So, is that clear as mud for you?
Terry Hills Tavern, bottle shop side.
What with Caro being the ride organiser... erm... it's your choiceIf you want to change it to the Tavern then edit your original post and fill in the meeting point, otherwise it defaults to the standard TH point, which is the shops.
Got it?
OK, I've done it for you
Stuart
Could you please clarify for Christine where north is
he already was kind enough to mention... The Bottle Shop - that's all i needed!!!
Stuart, its the new but regular roid boy Wednesday Night ride that starts on the southern side of THT before moving vehicles to the northern side for consuming ales.
Given Caro's impromtu "easy" Wednesday Night ride is in its inaugural state, I believe she is well in her rights to nominate a new starting point e.g. like the Japanese School.
However, I believe Caro first needs to decide if refreshments will be taken and if so will they be mid ride, post ride or both. Once this decision is made, the decision on the starting location is easier.
she decides to do Duck Holes and Centre Track at Terry Hills. This would leave you riding the "terrible" horse sh%t flavoured water section of Perimeter Trail. The best place to park for that is in the carpark across the road from the bottle shop, you know the one next to the kids playground, not the Tavern.
Probably best she decides which tracks before where or even if the liquid refreshments will be consumed, let alone when?
Oh dear, "why are people so unkind?"
what about the usual night ride you forgot to mention that one Stuey. We have also had a beer in the bottle shop side so that we don't have to move the cars. However if you wanted to have a more cushy place to have a drink then the cars are moved to the other side of the tav, but then you may be worried about not quite seeing the bikes on the cars when you have a drink. But then again what kind of beer will you need?
I didn't want to confuse people
so...
where are we riding?
hahah
See you at the tav...
Agreed, it would be silly to start at the Japanese school if you are doing Duck Holes/Centre or even Centre/Duck Holes, unless you enjoyed riding on the road.
The Japanese School is perfect for the 22k Perimeter/Long and no road riding, although you need to pre-plan buying refreshments before you get there.
They have more car park lighting at THT in the southern car park which means its safer to leave your bikes there while in the beer garden (not the northern lounge). The lighting in the northern car park is still poor but the close proximity of the vehicles is a bonus.
As an alternative you could park in the northern car park and not have to move your cars, the only disadvantage is that the bottle shop is further away but that only affect rides that have a mid rider refreshment stop.
WTF!!???
Don't have time to read all this now, will consult my lawyer and post later
LOL!!
I just wrote something but have to read all the posts again cause I think I got it wrong.. give me a sec...
wait until Ditty comes home. I read all your fabulous confusing posts (thanks) and even the ride section of Nobmob (for the first time) but I have no idea which track is called what?? Everybody always just talks about 'the night ride at TH' how am I supposed to know that that is so complicated??
Will get back to you shortly!
Hello!
After consultation with my personal trail advisor we will be meeting at the shops in TH tomorrow and we will be riding Duckholes.
Not sure what the refreshment procedure is for this option but I am sure there will be opportunities for pre/during/post hydration
Sorry for the late notice,I hope this suits everybody!
See you very soon
Carolin
So now the start point is back at the shops Caro and NOT the tavern??
hehe so much confusion
Ben
Correct. Terrey Hills shops on Booralie Road. Park outside the childcare centre or the RFS depot.
There are a lot of names on the list now. This ride is becoming massive.
sorry! dad has invented another book and i have to work at night to keep the layout people busy, especially as i am away this weekend...need to get in front of them
Count me out and i can can come i will text someone...or everyone, you know me!
I have to say if any of my team members get injured i will KILL YOU!!!
We are the only original team left...
have fun!
MEEE
Come on Christine... this is the A team... what could go wrong??
I can't adapt to rapid changes, I guess I will still park at the north (bottle-shop) side of the tavern and ride up to the shops. Anybody interested in joining me there?
Maybe I should post that as an additional ride ...
Hello all,
Unless it is absolutely belting down with rain, I will still be going. I'll likely take the hard tail out if it is raining.
I'll post again at about 6:15 to make final arrangements - once we see what the weather is doing. Bloody nature.
Cheers.
Sorry Caro, See you all Friday at our little get together in the ACT
Greg
I'm out as well but cya all there on Friday.
Evan
no A team members should be there anyway!
hee hee
hey Liam - it's raining here at St Ives you know...
I will leave my decision until 6pm. Possibly see you then!!
if you go and deliver your tent to me yes? for me to take to the Mont i do have to go to the city Friday morning but with my memory i am likely to forget to pick it up...
or else ring me and i'll try to remember ...
Am out too. Too wet for me
I am out too, sorry!
I think we will have enough singing .. eehhh I mean riding in the rain on the weekend to look forward to
Am handing this ride over to Ditty if he still wants to go.
Humpfff! It looks too wet. It rained on me walking home enough to spoil my enthusiasm for the ride. There is not a lot of gain for riding in the wet. Sorry guys, but I will be bailing from this ride too. Sorry! Nothing like excellent preparation for the Mont.
thats weak... i'm still going for a ride!
