Lady Carrington Drive
The most scenically stunning ride I've done (or walk...having previously been a bushwalker and now been converted to MTBs). This is an undulating, sometimes nicely rocky and bumpy ride, but not for the adventure seekers. However it's a great long ride (20 kms) for relative newbies and has good ups and downs. The joy of this one is in the bush, the wildlife and the history. This first ride here gave us 3 lyrebirds - in full view, minutes-long encounters - and a big red-bellied black lying across the trail that was slow enough to move out of the way that I had to drop my bike to stop running over it; birds all over the place and so many scenic spots overlooking the river or waterfalls from the upper slopes above the ride that it was sensory overload after a while. The trail has several stone horse drinking troughs along it that date back to 1892 and since, when this was the main road through the park. The area by the river, once you've finished the return trip from Audley Weir and back, is perfect for a picnic lunch and a rest before driving back up to the main highway and tacking on a circuit around one of the Loftus Oval-based trails.

yes it is a good scenic ride, and a great way to introduce new riders and girlfriends/wifes to the joys of MTB. Also nice at night, and great for a fast in and out, in under an hour when you don't have much time!
