Hi everyone

I am looking for a good tyre combination which is made for XC racing and is suited for WA terrain

Either a 2.2 Nobby Nic or Mountain King on the front with either a Racing Ralph or Race King on the back work well for me. The Schwalbes maybe a little stickier, but the Contis are harder wearing.

Ive heard a few people like the combination of Maxxis Ignitor on the front and the Maxxis Crossmarks on the rear.
Im enjoying the UST Tubeless Ignitors front and rear, especially in the drier stuff. For me, they performed really well on the Cape to Cape.
I then switch to the High Rollers during the wetter months.

Cheers

cheers for the response

I am currently running a maxxis Rendez on the front and thinking of changing it to a schwable nobby nic or rocket ron. I want a front tyre which dosnt hold too much rolling resistance but also allows you to drift through corners while holding the corner with confidence.

any suggestions?

First time I rode mine I was thinking I'd made a very bad decision.

Whisperer and a few others said to try reducing the pressure until I felt comfortable with it, and at about 25psi I found a sweet spot, and I like the tyre. I'm about 82-83kg with all my kit on. I'm running the 2.25 triple Evo UST on the front.

I've done some long distance racing with a Nobby Nic on front and found it to be pretty good overall, however, the tyres I really like are Panaracer (2.0), I run them on the front and back now, on my 26er. I find them to be good in all conditions.

I used to use Ignitor front and Crossmark rear, which I really liked, but now I'm on Ardent 2.25 front and Ikon 3C 2.2 rear. Much more confidence inspiring and better traction and braking.
