Hey man if you're happy to take me; I'm happy to come. Shouldn't slow you down. How much water do we need?
Are you riding up and back?
As long as it is easy and dry I will be at the carpark at 0700 hrs for a good old Sunday morning ride. May come across the old bullants and reminisce about the old days from the 70's and early 80's when I was a young bloke with some of these guys who are still running to this very day .. on, on!!
Happy to take whoever wants to come!
There is a tap at the top of Oaks, so you only need enough water to get up!
I'll check the weahterforecast again later. Not keen to ride if it is raining. So please keep an eye out for any late changes!
Just some light drizzle here now Volker, I'll tried to update it later tonight for you.
You should see me out there in the morning, I intend on riding up to the helipad just ahead of you.
Well if nothing else I'll be there to ride some single track. Hope to see you there!
Might come along for a relaxed Sunday ride.
Your recovery ride is my speed training ! Would be great to have you!
I was thinking to do an Ingram+Andersons+Oaks one of the following weekend's. Would you be interested in that?
Sounds good.
G'Day Volker! I'll be out that way myself Sunday, but starting a bit later; 7:30. See you on your way back down maybe. I'm intending to do a longer ride in the next few weeks, so might link up on your Andersons-Ingar-Oaks ride. Building up to the 'double'; Oaks, Andersons then back down to Glenbrook. Cheers, Adrian.
Hey guys I wont be able to come along on this. I can't afford to be sore this week coming as I have a few fitness tests on.
You blokes must have some steel arses and diesal powered bodies I reckon, two laps of the oaks? Yikes. I suppose it would make great 12/24hr solo training...
Oh, what chain ring are you guys pedalling up this hill on? It's 30km of climbing... I run a fairly tough 1x9 with 34t front 11-34t rear setup at the moment, I have a 28t widgit but generally it's too low for everywhere except places like Mt Buller.
Hey guys,
I'm keen for a ride and new to NOBMOB. I've not gone out on a social ride here in Sydney previously and am keen to get out there. I expect that when I get to the car park there will be a heap of people doing the same thing. Do I need to look/ask for someone in particular? I am semi fit (Christmas has a lot to explain for that) and know my way around a bike and single track. - Jason
Hi Jason,
from what I can see so far, it is Craig, Steven and myself. Watch out for a black Jeep Cherokee, that'll be me.
Oaks up and back is a quite lengthy ride, there are rumors that Steven could do it in 3 hours, but it took me 4 hours (with breaks) when I attempted it the first time before Xmas. Might not be the best ride to do as a first timer, but I let you be the judge of that.
Cheers,
Volker
Jbrad, if you are unsure of your fitness, weather permitting on the weekend there are always people catching the train from Glenbrook to Woodford in the morning. Going one way either up or down will also give you a good indication of how easy or hard you may find it. Even during the week you will almost always find someone up there.
Thanks for the heads up guys, if its too much I'll bail and get the train down. This is all dependant on weather I suppose. Its looking pretty average at home today. Looking forward to the ride. I'm in a black Jeep Wrangler.
Faulconbridge, Springwood and Linden observations show all very little rain today. I'll keep my hopes up!
Leave pass granted! To be honest I was going either way but hey all good! See you before 7. I'll be in a blue VW van.
There has been a couple of passing showers in Glenbrook today, just enough to keep the dust down really. Looked the same out in the park from what I could see today. I'll be leaving Glenbrook at 6:30, so might see you on the way back.
Ok, so here is the itinerary:
Chuck leaving Glenbrook 6.30
Steven, Craig, Jason and myself leaving Glenbrook 7.00
Andrew leaving Glenbrook at 7.30
, maybe we should bring beers too!
See you all tomorrow!
