Jesmond Bushland track cleared

I have been up in Jesmond Bushland (George McGregor Park) and cleared an old XC single track that starts 50 meters up the road from the drinking bubbler on Cambridge Dr, and joins at the bottom of the hills on the track that starts at the very top of McCaffrey Dr. This track forms a good little loop and stops the need to back track. What it needs now is some wheels to run over it to keep it clear. If you are riding Jesmond, give this track a go.

Rode it today! It is an awesome little trail! I love where it dips. When i was crossing the downed log accross the track I just happened to look to my right and saw a 4m long snake! I hate snakes! I turned around and sprinted back to the road! Ill try to complete it tomorrow (if it is snakeless)! Good job on the trail work!

Thank goodness you saw the snake. When I was in there clearing the track I was wandering around off the trail in the middle of some pretty dense bush. I was expecting to have the life frightened out of me by a big Joe Blake but came away with my heart still in my chest. I will get rid of that log across the track soon too.

Hey man be glad to give it a burn up when its dried out a bit. This bubbler you speak of, has it got a nearest cross street? Morton Ave or Cyna cl? I normally ride from the Lambton end. Be great to ride singletrail that doesn't go vertically downhill gutter style like some of the other attempt in these woods.

The bubbler is between Morton Ave and Sygna Cl on Cambridge Dr. The entry to the track is very close to where Morton Ave meets Cambridge Dr. If you come from the Lambton end, ride the single track that runs along the western fence line of the hospital car park. Go past the air conditioning vents that spray you with warm air and the small slab of concrete with sharp rocks poking out of it. Go down the nice rocky hill to your right that takes you to the top end of Sygna Cl. Go left on the wide black track for only maybe 10 metres, then right down a rough little track to cross the creek. This is the small park area where the bubbler sits. Go left up Cambridge Dr for maybe 50 metres then you will find the start of the track (you will have to look closely as it is not well worn). This track lets you loop back around to the top of the nice rocky hill you rode down once you got past the air conditioning vents.
