Hi guys . Just wondering if you can light camp fires at the mont? This is my first one and thought it may be a good idea to take a bit of the chill out of the night. Or roast some marshmallows. Cheers.

I would say no. Even though its been quite wet I think the last thing the organisers would want are fires among 3000+ campers. Just send them an email to get the official ruling though.

As i remember from last year the answer was NO. Besides being a serious fire risk among all the thousands of tents, it is especially inconsiderate of asthma sufferers of which there are significant numbers among endurance athletes. Smoke is a very potent asthma trigger.

Gas BBQs are probably ok if you wamt to toast marshmallows Smiling
