Getting into club riding
NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Hi all,
Just inquiring what the best way might be to getting into a local club. I am currently doing most rides on my own, which is getting a bit boring really. I would like to get into just general events, & helping out etc. Small enduro events, light racing etc.
Anyone have any experience on how it all works.
Thanks.
Jason.

HMBA is the local club. The website is down at the moment, so have a look at their Facebook page.
Turn up to a club meeting or race, the next race is at singleton.
You'll find it easy to fit in.
If your looking for people to ride with, post a social ride here, people will come.
Thanks sammydog. Will give it a go.
Also, I will be attending my first trail work day Saturday. Is there a particular tool that comes in handy for doing "most" work? Rather than just showing up with a shovel and being useless as everyone else bought one too? Just wanna be as helpful as i can.
What date is the next one at Singleton?

The HMBA calendar states that round 3 is at Awaba???
The nationals flogged Awaba and the trails are closed. Because of that the round has been moved.
To compound the issue, the HMBA website was hacked and has had to be temporarily shut down. Club members were emailed of the change of dates. I assume Facebook has been updated but I haven't looked.
NPWS has provided GTA with a pretty good collection of hand tools, barrows and a trolley. These are always provided at the bigger days.
It sounds like Empy is going to bring some of this along on Sat.
Generally you just need to bring things like food, water, suitable clothing/shoes.
About Saturday.
