mid north coast madness
fantastic event, the sun was shining great atmosphere, and the track was awesome, fast and flowing with plenty of features . We had a 4 man team entry ,my nephew Adam ,brother Gary his mate Tony and myself, Adam started the race and got a great start in the top 10,when he came around at the end of lap 1 he was 1st into transition !but the energy burned to achieve this proved to be detrimental later!.We circulated consistently lap for lap into the evening ,then did double laps into the night ,trying to get some sleep in between was difficult as was trying to eat.
I managed to have massive stack some time during the night which had me a bit stunned, as I rode off I realised the gears didn't work anymore, the rear cable had pulled out of the Der. I stopped and sorted that out, only lost about 7 minutes(including the crash) we pushed on through to sunrise ,it was so good to see the sun again with it came a sense closure only a few laps to go! .Adam and Gary both punched out a good last lap each to bring us home 6 minutes before the cut off .
really pleased with our result and thanks to my team mates for inviting me to be part of such a terrific event.

Did the 12 hour there in a 2 man team last year,36 laps around Tele point is a great effort. Where did you put it down?
Did they have the scaffold ramp into transistion this year? Couldn't ride this as I was a Wingello for the Willo. Will be up there for the MTB festival in June.
Nice work Craig! Shame about the stack and the mechanical. How close off the podium were you?
floydo ,crashed on the descent before Cannondale climb, and they had the scaffold bridge into the transition which was a nice feature!
Phil we were 1 lap off the podium ,entrys were thin!
So did you get a last lap in?
any lap after the 24 hour wouldn't count !....... weird huh!
