Knee/Shin Guards for XC
NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Due to failing healing and reaction times, I am seeking a little advice.
I (sadly) only ride XC now. Occasionally though, enthusiasm exceeds ability and I find myself nursing shredded shins/knees.
Aside from recommendations on learn-to-ride schools, could you please suggest suitable knee/shin guards. Priorities:
1 - Comfortable on longer XC rides
2 - Cool & Light
3 - Discreet (Not looking like I think I ride DH)
Tips (if acceptable by this site) on where to purchase (ideally online) would be great.
Cheers.

Get some G-FORMs that all I can say.
Why protection? If its only xc. You could look at the 661 shin guards. They are light and comfy. Try Torpedo7.com.au
Why protection? Yep, I know. I am afraid of looking like a try-hard, but, I am a bloody dreadful healer. I do not eat dirt that often, but am starting to think that the slight discomfort of guards may be better than haggard legs....
Thank you for your comments. I have looked at 661 before and was tempted. The gform recommended earlier look neat. Shame they do not have a combined shin/knee. Might still go for shin.
Cheers
Howdy
The Shin and Knees are separate but work together pretty well.
I just posted up a review on our FB page ... also one in Mountain Biking Australia and pink bike

Think of them as a leg warmer with protection ... but in summer they also cool you down after they had time to wick some moisture
Happy to answer any questions.
