Bleeding 2012 XT Brakes

Just wanted to ask a side question.....Have your brakes leaked fluid ?
I got a brand new pair & the front started leaking from the actual caliper & has contaminated brake pads beyond salvation.
Had them cleaned & heated up but still no good.
Now the leak seems to have stopped but i've still got contaminated pads in, not braking very well.
Anyone else experienced leaking XT brake calipers ?

I just use 2x 15mL syringes from the chemist. Cut about 1/2 the nozzle off one, undo lever and put it horizontal on bars. Undo lever reservior/bleed screw, screw in the syringe with no plunger and nozzle cut off. Get other syringe and fill with oil, attach some tubing to the end of it (clear plastic stuff) get as much air out as possible and then put it on the caliper bleed nipple. I just zip tied the syringe to top rear chainstay, undo nipple and push the plunger down until you see fluid/bubble coming up in the other syringe in the lever, put ~10mL in there and then pump the lever and it will force fluid back down through the caliper and push out the plunger. Do that process a few times, tap/rattle/shake the lines/caliper/lever and change the lever angle slightly on bars(around 30deg fore and aft. Pump back as much fluid from lever until theres just a bit left in the tip of syring, close off nipple, remove syringes, top up reservoir and put screw back in.

I found using the bleed block was fine when you are putting new pads in, but with older worn pads I used an old rotor with a business card folded over it's edges for some "spacing" to bleed.
