Back Yamma Bigfoot 2012
Corner of Back Yamma Road and Parkes Eugowra Road, Eugowra NSW 2806. This is around 25km South of Parkes.
Sunday 9th September 2012
Back Yamma State Forest, Central West NSW
2012 sees the Back Yamma Bigfoot return for its third year. This 25/50/100km mountain bike race is held in the Back Yamma State Forest near Parkes and Forbes in the Central West of NSW (see the map below).
The course has been designed to cater to beginners, intermediate and advanced riders. Beginners can get a taste of the action in the “Little Foot” (25km option), while intermediate and advanced riders can push a little harder and take in some of the more technical aspects of the single track in the “Big Foot” (50km option). A 100km “Two Big Feet” option exists for those riders wanting to push even further. The “Two Odd Feet” category offers a team relay experience, where 2 riders complete 2 25km laps each to complete a total of 100km.

Competitor packs are chock-full of goodies.
You will also have the chance to win, on the podium and as random give-aways, other great prizes from:

The Merida demo fleet will be set up from Saturday morning, a good chance to sample some World Champs and World Cup winning bikes.
Facilities
The good folk at Parkes Rotary are back to support the race. Saturday night they will cook up a storm and Sunday is all about fuelling the burn. They will also have a hot shower set up, $2 buys a nice warm shower and supports a great organisation.
Shotz in the water? That’s right, Shotz will be fuelling some of the water supply at the feed zone, great electrolyte products to give you that boost and recharge your depleted cells.
New Categories
This year we’ve expanded our selection of available categories, with new categories including:
Super Masters for those 55+ (for 50km and 100km)
New for 2012 is the Pairs Relay 110km. One rider at a time each doing laps of the 27km course. Pick your own strategy with lap on – lap off or double laps. Its a great chance to do ‘the 100′ but a little cheekily, if a 100 is your ambition but its a bridge too far this is your chance, grab a mate and get busy.
Course
The course is largely the same as last year, but we’ve made a few changes which we hope you’ll agree are improvements. We’ve added a some more single track, as well as reversing the direction of a section of single track so that it flows better on the slight downhill. Detailed maps will be posted soon.
Accommodation
There are acres of space for camping at the event centre (and sensible camp fires should be allowed). For those that want something more comfortable here’s a good place to start to find something in the area.
Merchandise
The 2012 BYBF merchandise is available when you enter online, the final details of the Netti BYBF jersey is almost complete and we are pretty excited as its looks pretty sharp. There’s also T shirts and stubby holders, all affordable and there to remind you of the fast and flowy trails at Back Yamma State Forest. Check out the designs here.
