Hi,
what about this one:

"Alice Springs has a new MTB event... The Bullroarer
For those familar with the Central Australian Bike Challenge, the Bullroarer is the CABC re-invented!!!
Taking place from the 18th - 24th May 2008, this event is single track heaven winding through the West McDonnell rangers.
There is 7 racing stages over 5 days with the start and finish in one central location - that's right no need for car hire or support crew assistance. Each stage ranges from a 500m hill sprint to a 90km epic. There is a mixture of fire roads, sand, some single track and many thorns.
Keep an eye out on www.thebullroarer.com for further info - the website is currently being built."

looks like a gr8t challenge!!!

Been there, very nice scenary! Sadly wasn't riding a bike at the time but the terrain certainly looked interesting enough to make riding fun. So, do we have an oppotunity to remedy the missed riding?

Guestimates on the stages:

Day 1 = 50Km + 500m
Day 2 = 70Km
Day 3 = 90Km
Day 4 = 25Km + 20Km
Day 5 = 50Km

Total guess (which is probably way off) of 305Km over 5 days? Erm... doable with a smidgen of training, eh? Anyone game? Oh, it's $440 entry, but they ferry you about for that so all you have to do is get to the airport in Alice with a bike I guess.

Or one could drive the 2800Km... wow - now that would be a road trip - if we left now we could get in some good riding on the way too Eye-wink

To far away, too soon, and too expensive. Sad

A bunch of us did it in its previous incarnation. Lots of sand, lots of singletrack, lots of beer and lots of fun.

could be a good incentive to get me back on the bike and get some good k's in. P.s. Tentatively booking a very slow short ride at terrey hills tonight. My first serious off road since the accident. Itll be super slow if anyone fancy's a spin of the legs. Around 7ish at the japanese school me thinks.

Hi all, I would be very keen to do this event. Does anyone know how many people can enter? I was hoping to do the Wildside in TAS in Jan, but it sold out pretty quickly - only 350 rides allowed.
Cheers. M
