Ideas on suspension setting

Hi all,

I recently put a set of 120mm RS Reba solo air on my bike. On my local trail, lake parra, I don't seem to be using all the travel. Maybe about 100mm. I am fairly lightweight and I don't do any big jumps. Question is should I be getting full travel on every ride? If so, what can I do to achieve this? I am running about 15-20% sag. The pressure to achieve this is already 20 psi less than what is recommended on the fork. Should I go lower pressure to try to get full travel? Other adjustments available are low speed compression and floodgate. Any ideas?

Thanks

You shouldn't be using 100% travel every ride especially if its just fire trail/xc sorta stuff. 20% sag is ideal but you also want to leave yourself a bit of travel as a safety net, maybe if you take a different line and hit a rouge rock or do a drop off thats bigger then expected. If its your local ride and you no the track well then i would be running a bit less pressure bit still leaving yourself a bit of a safety net so maybe drop a few psi more, i don't worry about the psi guidelines i just run what i wanna run. But from the sounds of it your pressures are bang on.

Have fun experimenting and finding that sweet spot Laughing out loud

Agreed, You don't want to be bottoming out your suspension. 80% Use sounds ideal.

The best advice that I have received is that you should be using 90% of your travel 90% of the time.
