Skippy does it for sh*ts and giggles.
Bloody Vegemite coloured kangaroos... Come on pancakes, u know u want one..
Might find a pumpkin to wear as a helmet.
I'll buy a beer for anyone that rides and goes to the tavern in fancy dress!
Well as they say, the night is young. You'll probably end up doing an impersonation of the Mummy.
As the long trail has now been well and truly burnt out and in places looks like a post appocolyptic landscape it is stunning and at night haunting. As so much folliage has been burnt out there are now view points I haven't even noticed before - although I suppose it helps when you are standing on the roof of a fire truck...
Was out there over the w/e and got turned back - on reflection pretty dumb riding into the bush when the smell of smoke was so strong but assumed it was somewhere else as they had just done parts of Long. Also, my Fling training is in disarray so was desperate to put some miles in.
I missed the small sign on the ground at Long and only found out when stopped by a firery going the other way.
I'm interested - Why did they do it again - I guess completely this time? No houses there.
They were also doing WestHead on Sat but hard to see where come Sun
I have already fed back that the signs are too small, and where the one on the long trail was placed I am not surprised you didn't see it... Long trail hadn't been burnt for quite a while, perimeter was burnt a couple months ago, so this was to complete the burns and sure up that side of TH / Duffys.
Sure was a lot of smoke around. There hasn't been that much carbon in the air since Black Flash did the convict.
...Its just upside down...
Wish I could make it, but sadly I can't. Good luck Heath and welcome back
I might have to sit this one out. Bloody work
I'll see how I go.
Is this ride going to be a Strava Challenge night?
Did someone say "Strava Challenge". I'll be there for sure then
TRAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Phil, you're assuming you would be overtaking someone
Lucky Black Flash isn't competitive - so it'll be fine for his comeback tour ;()
If I was competitive I would have finished the convict race by now...
If its going to be a Strava Challenge then I'm leaving at 6:30 and see ya's out there.....Somewhere....!!!!
I'm for a personal worst....
None of this new fangled tech gimmicks on this ride.... good old school fun only!
Average speed to get us back to the Tavern for the Schnitzels....'roid boys are 'so 5 mins ago...'
And full moon to boot, add Halloween spice = ?
Hi locals - in prep for the Halloween ride tonight...
Is TH Perimeter + Long Track now open, or should we go Duckholes & Centre? (equally nice in the full moon light)
So I've heard.
Duck holes and Centre aren't too bad as is Perimeter. Long is like a 6km long sand pit, the little hill included. Rode them all last night and enjoyed all except Long
Perim and Long - via Nerang.....Yup lots of sand the further out you go - interesting in places too - that fast downhill corner about a kay before long trail turnoff being an eye opener. Needs a big dump of rain to wash it out.
Its no longer on RFS website and saw heaps of guys out there the other day - I say giddy up
Trick or treat!
