For those who know me, I'm back! For those who don't, I had a nasty accident in Canberra on the APEC long weekend early in September. I thought I was 21 again and tried a jump that might have been a little above my limits.

Anyway, after a week in Canberra hospital, a broken left arm and a real bugger of a dislocation with ripped tendons, nerves and muscle in the right (so painful I didn't even realise I'd broken the left!) I've been recovering slowly and still haven't got full movement back in the right arm.

Anyway, less of the crap. What I'm trying to say is that I thought I'd try my first off road ride since the accident( not counting a ride around narrabeen lake as it might be sandy but not really in the spirit of the sport!).

I was gonna try terrey hills as a nice easy one to ease my way back but then thought 'bugger!' ill have a go round manly dam but walk down and up all the technical sections.

I rode from home a few k.m's away and planned on doing a shortened section with quite a bit of road to break it up but at the top of alambie road i felt a magnet pull me in and ended up doing a full lap and a bit. I'm so pleased I did as I only got off the bike once( middle step of 'the steps') and did an average of 12.6 kmh. now I know this ain't nothing to you fit people in one piece but to a broken man who hasn't trained since the first week in September its quite an achievement. Well actually I'm over the bloody moon and it means i can start riding and training again albeit slowly downhill!

Sorry but I had to share my elation with my fellow nobmobbers, see you for the ride on sat!

gazza.... woo hooo!

Here I was quietly thinking to myself last September "Ah well, atleast when he comes back I might have a chance of keeping up with him" and there you go and smack that thought over the fence. I think that MD ride now has you having ridden more than I have over the last couple of months, bugger.

All jokes aside mate that is great news, but as Ditty said take it easy. Don't let your elation at finally being back on the bike get you into more trouble too early.

Welcome home.
