Jet Black 24 Hr Mt Annan 2012
So who's going? I'd love to get to know some NobMobbers.
I'm doing the 6+6 with one other.....who doesnt really post much on here but he's an ace rider. If I was as good as him. I recon wed have a chance of winning the over 40's catergory.....but as things go I'm just not his caliber. So were in it for some fun, without riding at night & freezing our nuts off at transition in the likes of the Mont & the Scott LOL. were taking the kids too.
I have no Idea how to make myself known as a Nobmobber..... or how to recognize another. Perhaps I should wear one of those celebrety heads signs LOL
I know Minter & Chitts....thats my claim to fame... but I dont think they are going.

Nice we have Goulash happening in our camp. But will certainly be around for a social chat.
I'm in a multi coloured MX5. part red, part yellow. part grey. If the bike hanging off the back of it is worth more than the car, chances are, its me. LOL
It's going to be a hot one!
yea yesterday just about killed me I rode at the worst time too. This will sort out the boys among men. LOL......errr maybe the other way around. all the old men will fall over & die in the heat.

Yep I'm there.
I went out on saturday, had a mate break his arm on the table tops. It was really hot and heard its going to be worse this saturday! 44 degrees :$ lots of snakes too. I'm doing a pair with another girl and will be wearing hot pink and purple zerofive kit. say hi if you go past, 12 hours of riding I hope not to get bored and to be alert.I will look forward to anyone who wants to chat, to help keep me going.
37c in Camden, which is pretty close to the course I think!
good lord.
yea I was looking at sydney forcast Not Camden or Campbeltown.
Campbelltown is the one to look at.
The BOM station for Camden / Campbelltown is at Mt Annan.
I'll be there as part of a team of 6. Just organising gear now, anyone got any tips?
Lots and Lots of water.
Long range forecast shows:

I will also be there. Hopefully doing 6 + 6 in a 3 man team.
I will be there and it should be easy to find me as I will be the tall guy on a unicycle. We have a team of three of us doing the 24 hour on one wheel. Never done one before so it should be interesting. Say hi as you pass me.
that will be no probs

Also getting in amonst the action around the event centre , if I ignore you or give u a strange look don't be offended... lol , let the fun begin & stay hydrated ppl & carry salt & sugar lollies with you so you don't cramp or dehydrate , I seen it happen 2yrs ago the guys face was absolutely white ..

Why would you spoil a good thing and go and get married

If I survive until Sat Night.....an even more elaborate last supper has been organised with all he people I love close to me.
I'm really looking forward to this. Not sure why. I'm sure I'll regret it.

Might be a few tempted to swim in that canal that runs through the place....
We've organised an inflatable pool for our campsite
You are going to be very popular with a pool!
there will be open air showers there so bring the togs or go under in your riding gear
I think they'll be getting some good use!
And Russ. As Bri says, If it aint broke, why fix it?
I've done the marriage thing once. I promised myself i'd never do it again!
see ya out there ...
Can anyone please tell me what the elevation gain/loss was on each lap?
I want to congratulate everyone that finished as it was a very hot and hard course. I also want to thank everyone that passed us unicyclist for being so kind to us and offering words of support. You two wheelers are a very nice crowd and we appreciate you letting us ride and race with you. Our team of three ended up doing 22 laps and we were pretty happy with that considering the conditions. Not only did the heat kill us at the start but that trail is not ideal for one wheelers as it is way too bumpy thus we didn't get any breaks during the ride. Even on downhills we had to pedal and concentrate on the trail. It was our first 24 hour race and we don't think we will be doing another one anytime soon...but you never know. Cheers.
I did a very detailed write up of my experience for my first 24 hour race. So if you want to know what it was like doing it on one wheel, you can read all about it here: http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/showthread.php?...
Hopefully the moments were capture here

you missed out on getting me at the end ???? The sweep rider ......
The sweep rider? I think I was cooling off in my ice bath 'bout that time . But your right the volunteers at our MTB events don't get enough credit.
I'll see you next year around the tracks have a good one ....Russ
