Wombat 100 2013

The Wombat 100 is a cross country MTB marathon staged in the Wombat State Forest on the outskirts of Woodend, VIC. The 14th April 2013 will see the fifth instalment of this popular event, regarded as one of Victoria’s premier XC marathon events.

Participants can expect a world class marathon course that includes over 50% flowing, groomed single track (including the famous Wombat track), fast fire trail, pine forest single track and 4WD trails. No tarmac, guaranteed! The riding is diverse, challenging but achievable for most weekend warriors. Course options include the full 100km or a 50km half course. There is also an 18km loop of the wombat track for kids under the age of 16 - a perfect introduction to MTB racing!

Although serious MTB racing is at the forefront of this event, this is an event with plenty on offer for families. The 2013 event will feature kids races around the event centre, a jumping castle and petting zoo – all set in the beautiful surrounds of Cammeray Waters, a first class rural conference centre. There is accommodation available onsite, or if you prefer to make a camping weekend of it, there is ample room for everyone. Only 60km from central Melbourne and 40 minutes from the airport, the Wombat 100 is the place to be on the 14th April 2013.
