IMBA Manly Dam audit
Hi all
We have been meeting with Warringah Council discussing this proposed audit and it has just been announced that IMBA are the successful applicant to their request for quote.
This is great news to finally get an mtb specialist to take a look at the place to guide future works.
It is likely this may begin this month including some rider consultation.
We will keep you all updated.

I guess they're figuring that with IMBA taking the running, we're less likely to beat them about the head and shoulders with a worn crankset
Now that Old Man's Valley has set a new standard for what's achievable in limited space with a modest budget, hopefully we can get a few mental gears to start turning among WMC staff!
Great news about having pros on board.
And well said Hawkeye .. the thing that surprised me the most was how quick the climb was. Tardis trail.
Awesome news.
Great news!!
Hi all
If you see the IMBA guys out on the track next few days stop and say hi.
They are the guys in IMBA t-shirts...
I will probably be hanging around the 19th hole with them for a while tomorrow morning.
Any secrets to give away as to the focus on the 19th hole?
Just want them to know what is currently the chicken run, what used to be the chicken run in 2005 (we seem to now have C , D an E lines-too many letters).
What used to be the old A and B lines, how water erosion and riding styles have changed things.
And what is natural and what we have changed on the run out in the last few years with Council to control water.
Mostly just watching riders to see what most people are currently doing.
I yelled out on the way through this morning. Great to have the guys from IMBA on board.
We passed you on the 19th hole step down.
... playing tour Barbie and ended up getting sunburnt!
The comment from passing riders was quite encouraging. Was that Martine that passed through a few times this morning on a Giant 29er? Quick!
Expect a few re-routes to be proposed (more singletrack ) to get around some of the unsustainable gradients and erosion issues. What they were proposing for the descent down to Curl Curl Creek and back up the other side of the valley sounded quite interesting and positive.
Regrettably, the rock step-downs near the hydro lab are likely to go due to the obvious and difficult to manage erosion problems, but they were looking pretty hard at alternative lines not on UNSW land to make up for the loss. The entry onto 19th Hole will hopefully get a few turns added.
Of course this is very early days, and lots of issues to be considered before anything is put into a proposal, but it's a great start.
That would have been Martine, on a white Anthem 26er.
She's so small it looks like a 29er!
And yes, she's motoring round there at the moment, knocking out a few 34 min laps!
If they are going to take away some of the fun we can only hope they replace it with something as fun, if not more fun
Lets just hope that they dont dumb it down to suit the Joe average
Hopefully some more trails that divert around the road sections will be in store as well which will spice it up a little
I havent ridden there in months but am hoping to be able to get up there this weekend
