So given you are reading this I'm guessing that price has got your attention. Have seen it under $400 US plus delivery if you can get them to deliver here but haven't seen it that cheap locally. Forget their $781 "was" price but I think the $430 delivered Aus wide with Aus guarantee is pretty reasonable. Happy shopping anyone with spare dollars after Christmas.

I picked one up at JB in the city for $450 and another $50 for a 32gb class 10 card.

that's not too bad, was that discounted or their ticketed price?

More importantly do you like it and where is the footage?

ticketed was $489 , did the usual whats the best you can do on this....

Have not had a chance to take it out on the bike, just mucking around with the kids
Footage so far is very nice, very impressed with the quality for such a small camera. sorry have not put any online as yet.
smartphone app is great, only downside is battery life, which is about 1hr, need to get the battery pack to double this.

I did not buy it so I'm not sure it works, but I went to gopro website and it seems you can get the Black Edition for US$399 delivered.

I simulated a purchase and it even asked for shipping to country and it came back as $0 delivery and $0 tax.

Forget this, I went all they way to payment and then you get a surprise $85 shipping charge.

Been running mine this week on the commute. Low light performance and optics are much improved.

Jury is still out on battery life. It ran out of juice on my 90 minute commute on Tues, but that was in 1440p mode and was the battery's first cycle.

Battery life is terriable compared to the Gopro2.

I was able to get two days worth of DH runs with the Gopro 2. Now with the Gopro3 I need a spare battery on the first day!

... gives me 1hr 37 minutes at 1080p when run continuously.

Not particularly inspiring, but good enough for my commute, which is the main reason I bought it (multipurpose white tradie van, taxi, and bogan repellent all in one Sticking out tongue ).

You can buy a piggyback battery that's good for 4 hours or so.
