I know lake parra pretty well, but have used up all my bike riding allowance for the weekend already.

From the car park you want to head clockwise around the lake. The first bit of dirt off the cement path is challenging, i walked it the first time but have ridden it every time since. You then need to cross the river and follow the path up and around the lake. after about 1-2 kms you get to another river crossing, turn left on the other side then keep following the path. From there on you need to explore your self, but you want to end up back at this spot because if you turn right that is the way back to the car park, which is better than riding around the lake.

One tip, you should get to a small gate where you go around then up a small hill, turn left here and left again into a single track then across another river crossing, up a decent hill then some nice Down Hill.

Good Luck

I read up the following links last night:

Today I did an anti clockwise lap around the lake, then met up with 2 people and we went worked our way up to Tallwood Drive (Seville Reserve). We then came back down along North Rocks Rd but it would have been better to do a off road loop up there and come back somewhere along. Some parts near the lake involved a deal of walking, but I was a bit tired for obstacles and I can see that if you know the trail a little bit you could ride most of that.

The trails up north from the Lake seem pretty good.

I'll go back there again.

Didnt check site over the weekend Benny
but i rode up there yesterday arvo wish i hadve gone in the morning it was 35 degrees at 230pm
the better sections are up north of the top river crossing
they are the down hills in the Kings school area
there are some good hidden tracks too

cheers

Sounds like you found some of the good ones then. Did you go though a nice single track section that weaves around for half a Km and then some sweet downhill to another river crossing?

Ive been riding up there for three months and we have found just about every trail
best down hill is behind the houses under the massive power lines it has a brillian rock garden right at the end of it
the one that comes out onto the weir just outside the lake itself

if anyone is interested in another day up there im in !!!

Its all very new to us.

Went again this afternoon. Found the awesome XC trail curving and S bending around up near the power lines AND the downhill track to the massive rock platform. There are some nice trails in there. We also found the main/common trail leading towards Carlingford too. That Shortish XC trail is very well done. Needs a light trim, and maybe some camber added to a couple of turns, but it is very well laid out.

I might be up for another morning or arvo up there later this week.

Thats the one. It starts next to a grey, freshly painted electricity tower.

Will let you know before we head there again.
