God damn I didn't think it would be this hard.

This… this beautiful thing, this work of art, is a 2012 Specialized Carve Pro. Specialized's first frame expressly designed for 29er wheels (apparently), and my god does it go like stink. It really does 'carve' up flowing single track like it's a bitumen road.

So, why on earth am I selling her? Well, I bought the bike about six months ago, and to be perfectly honest I don't ride her enough. I've had chronic tendinitis for the last year and it's probably been out about four or five times (oh, but what times…) Plus, I've realised I am well and truly a gumby roadie now, and I don't deserve this bike until I can get off a drop more than a foot deep.

So, she's just taking up room in my tiny apartment, staring at me, begging to be ridden, and I just can't justify her as an attractive wall ornament any more. Sigh.

… moment of silence please….

OK. *wipes tear from eye*

Instead, she needs to go to a good home. With a rider who'll love it, and take it for rides every week, and clean it (but not too much, she likes it dirrrrty). That rider, my friend, is YOU.

OK, let's get down to brass tacks. She's probably done less than 200km all up. This baby retailed for $2,000 Australian. The 2013 model (which arguably has an inferior spec) is $2,100. I'm asking $1,750. BARGAIN.

Skip to the end for the full specs. But here are the highlights:

XT/Deore drivetrain, with an XT chain replacing the original KMC chain (cos I snapped it first time out of the gate, YEAH BOY)
Deore hydraulic brakes (teensy bit screechy at the mo, but i'll fix that before you pick it up)
Rockshox Recon Gold fork with remote lockout
Specialized Carve wheels with tubeless-ready tyres (currently carrying tubes, but the conversion is easy. Did I say easy? I meant MESSY).
Currently equipped with SPD pedals, but I can put flats on if sir (or madam) requires.

Frame size is 17.5" so good for anyone about 172cm-180cm (I'm 174cm and I'm on the cusp of frame sizes).

She'll be fully scrubbed, wiped down and lubed upon collection for your riding pleasure.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!

I don't like to think about my exes, or keep their stuff. So, as well as the bike, I'll throw in:

2x bottle cages
1x repair kit with 2x tubes, patch kit, 2x spare links, 2x joining pins, 2x calliper wedges (BYO multitool. Sorry.)
1x shock pump (no-name brand, but does the job)
1x hydration pack (Macpac not Camelbak I'm afraid)
Any other gubbins I find in the meantime that might be of use.

You can even have my old helmet if you want, but I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

In the interests of full disclosure, there are some minor cosmetic scratches on the top and down tube. Top tube scuffing is from a rear-mounted bike rack, and the scratch on the down tube is… from mountain biking somehow. She's never been crashed though, so structurally perfect. And hey, it's a used bike. Scuffs add character.

If you've got any questions (if you've actually got this far into my ravings) then ping me. Prefer buyer to pick up (so I can look you in the eyes and make sure you understand, dude) but happy to discuss postage. You're paying for all packaging, plus my time to box her up and send her, though, and I won't take any responsibility for damage inflicted during transit. Now, if you want me to ride her to your house, we can talk...

To buy, ether message me, call on 04 5005 3842 or email kev_eddy@yahoo dot co dot uk

Peace out,

K
