Something no one has EVER done before in Australia! (video)
NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Thought I'd give the WA MTB community a small taste and teaser of what off road hand cycling is going to look like. Coming to a trail near you!
For those who haven't heard already, I am raising money for Wheelchair Sports WA to purchase a new handcycle which will give people with physical disabilities equal opportunities to ride off-road as everyone else. Flyer attached.

Give Kurt Furnley a Newcastle local legend any chance of a go around some parts of Glenrock?
Everyone is welcome to give it a go when I'm in town, but first - got to get the cycle purchased and back into it!
The one in my video belongs to a friend and I returned that recently.
Well done for persevering and getting back into something we all love - getting out in the bush away from the madding crowd. More power to your arms!
Thanks Richard.
Soon as I raise the money for Wheelchair Sports WA to get the trike in, I'll be out there meeting as many people as possible. There's something about the MTB and cycling community that I haven't found anywhere else!
Hope you enjoyed the video Feel free to share.
Good stuff.
Have you heard of a WA company, Dream Fit?
Haven't caught up with the guy in AGES, but he's done heaps of stuff, like motorbike conversion for paraplegics etc.
Couple friends have dealt with them in the past. Might show them the trike once it arives. Always room for improvement!
Thanks for the very generous donation Rich!
Keep in touch via my website so that we can organise rides later on.

Facebook, youtube, newsletter, email - which ever works for you.
www.breaktheboundary.com/donate and donated $100. My conscience was pricked by your endeavour. I challenge all mountain bikers to match. It's Tax deductible. Its that time of year! Looking forward to seeing you on some of the trails Andrew( Don't expect to see you going up Rocky balboa - but maybe - prove me wrong?) For those who don't know, Andrew also intends to do the complete Munda biddi! Wow - Go for it mate.
On a similar note we gave some money to a fundraiser on the same Everydayhero site a year or more ago to raise money for a special wheelchair - someone who had been hit by a car out training - who was PMBC member. Can anyone give an update as to how things went. I can't remember his name but I'm sure someone will.
I never turn a challenge down! Once the logistics are sorted out, it's game on!!
The gentleman you're refering to is Daniel. The trike in the video is actually his; so you can see that your previous donations have helped him and in turn have helped me and will hopefully help others (it's like a domino effect). He's doing well but dealing with some ongoing shoulder issues.
As for the Munda Biddi EPIC, it's turned out a lot harder than we first anticipated, but still something we'll work though. Looking at completing large sections of the trail such as the 80km Kep Trail and the 42km Heritage trail. Few others on the menu, but we'll have a better idea once I get out there and dirty!
There was a well organised lot setting up for a nighttime husky dog race - I think its called the Margaret River Sled Dog Masters - held annually.
Website of the local organisation appears to be http://www.wassa.com.au/
Looked like great fun. One of the trikes looked remarkably similar to your machine - implying your design might easily adapt to a team of dogs.

Probably a bit dated given the contrast between the trikes in the video and the high tech (suspension) trike that I saw, but gives the flavour. Amazing.
I'm up for it if the dogs want to drag 26kgs of trike around!
No dramas pulling you and trike around. They *love* to do that stuff. lol
The challenge will be getting them to stop!
If someone is willing to lend me their dogs, then it's a go!
