Hi keen for a night ride.
Is it still on due to recent rain?
Cheers Dan

... it's a bit early to make a call on a July 24 ride. Would be pretty slushy if it was tonight tho'..... Eye-wink

dwboon's picture

Sorry should have looked at the date properly! Doh

Floydo's picture

Might even have the new machine ready for a maiden voyage.
Be riding from the tavern if anyone one is keen for a few extra km's.

cambo's picture

I will be leaving the Tavern around 6 to get duck holes and centre done before meeting up with the main group, anyone interested see you there. I will be on the Trance

sorry to pull out last minute, but some #$%@ stole my new saddle last week and I'm awaiting insurance.... thanks guys - have fun!

Discodan's picture

That's no excuse, I can lend you a saddle for the night if you like

Black Flash's picture

Was looking fwd to coming along.... Till work decided to send me away for the week...
Enjoy!

knobbylowboy's picture

Thanks Discodan but I have the bike here waiting for the cops to dust it for prints! Yes, I couldn't believe it either, but we think we know who did it and he's got a crim record so his prints will be on file. Anyway, thanks again for the offer!

Hi Guys

Sorry for the late call.

I did the Japanese School to the end of the Long Track in about 33mins on a soggy track the weekend before last (about the same return). I've got a 1800 lumen bike light - which has been getting me around the Engravings Track and Parkway Wiggle before dawn without too much problem.

It will be my first full moon ride .. and group ride for that matter. I just wanted to check that I'm in the mix before rocking up?

Floydo's picture

You will be fine. Never left anyone behind yet. Not good for Hans reputation.

Cambo , Do you want some company on the duck hole trail? I'm looking to do some extra KM's and would be interested in joining you as I've never rode duck holes. Let me know.

Cheers , Craig

Discodan's picture

Yep, you're good to go then Aaron. See you there.

I did the track on Saturday (first time I've ever ridden it in daylight), the first section is quite soggy and the bike came back a mess but the rest is just fine. Should be a good night

amarkie's picture

Good stuff, looking forward to it.

Floydo's picture

Come join us. We will be taking it easy as we are racing the 3 Ring on Sunday. Leaving the Tav at 6. Ducks and Centre just like Long and Perimeter, usually drier and maybe a little rockier. Roughly around 38km combined. See you there.

The Tartan Spartan's picture

See you then , look forward to it

Tristania's picture

At Cairns airport atm and will be at Syd at 4pm. hopefully will make it if all goes to timetable! Smiling

Guys I'm in - first time rider. I'm a bit like Lassie - always find my way home - so feel free to leave me behind if I'm holding up the group. Pity it wasn't last night the moon was bright - might be a bit cloudy tonight.

Floydo's picture

....they are never seen again.

We were all first ride Nobbers at some stage. More the merrier.

Just found out Mum has choir in Gordon from 7:30 to 9pm this evening so she can drop me there. But was wondering if anyone was heading to either Hornsby or Gordon area after and would be willing to give me a lift.

Thanks heaps Smiling

Tristan

Hi guys ...

Was looking forward to it, but can't make it tonight as I'm still stuck in a meeting in the city.

However, Shane (Giant Trance, 0404293735) or Dave Youl (Specialized Epic 29'er) will be at 7pm at the Japanese / Christian School / Echunga Road roundabout to meet any 'first timers' and send them in the right direction.

Have fun - should be a great full moon night out. See you on the trails!

Cheers, Hans

Thanks for the ride guys and the patience whilst I repaired my concurrent front and rear punctures. I hope everyone got their order in on time. I look forward to the next one and not having work keep me away from the tavern afterwards

amarkie's picture

Thanks everyone for a great ride. It certainly opened my eyes to how much I back off and recover on the flat sections. The pace was way faster than I'm used to and as a result I had nothing left on the hills, so I appreciate everyone waiting up for me. My legs are feeling very heavy at the moment but I fear the worst is yet to come!

Once again thanks for the ride, great to meet you all.

Floydo's picture

No problems made the kitchen, sorry about leaving you half way back.
All good. Might do duck holes and centre next time for a bit of variety.

Happens to be a full moon...
Does someone want to clone a ride?
