Does anyone know of a decent link through Oxford Falls to Terrey Hills. Happy to hike a bit if there's a connecting trail that is not legal for bikes....

I'd be tempted to come out of Oxford Falls on Morgan Road, cross Forest Way, enter Cascades and drop down Heath Track, go up Quarry Track and carry on up to meet Mona Vale Road just to the West of Hart. Take care to cross Mona Vale road here and turn right (head East) to the Showground. Pick up the nice single track there and take it to Ryland.

Here you have a choice:

1. The steep option: Turn left along Ryland firetrail and head out until you find the 'Y' fork. Bear right head down the very steep descent, cross the creek, up the other side. You'll come to a firetrail, right will take you to Cooyong Rd, left to Killawarra Rd.

2. The easy option: Ride alongside Mona Vale road (you don't actually have to ride on the road) once more until the junction with Forest Way. Turn left for 100m or so before picking up Larool road which becomes a fire trail.

After both of these you are somewhere in Terrey Hills/Duffys Forest. Close enough? Eye-wink

Although to be honest, all this is a huge detour to avoid having to ride 2.5km along Forest Way. But that's what you wanted, right? Laughing out loud

Thanks for the detail there Rob - Very much appreciated. A previous exploration run took me down the Y fork you mention - that was a fair cardio workout on the other side! I might take the easy option there next time.

And yes, lengthy detours on dirt are preferable to short cuts on tar!

Thanks again.

From the end of the trail off Mona Vale rd towards deep creek on your map, how much is rideable when linking it up to Morgan Rd FT?
