How was the ride fellas? How where the waterbars since the council has built them up? Did u conquer the gorge and ride all the way out? I got this post too late. Looking forward to a local ride soon again.

The waterbars are so much bigger than they used to be, and witth the speed you get up to they can really launch you, so pretty much all you can do is hang on and survive. Though with all the rain weve had the track provides great traction, well great for the gorge, you can corner a lot faster than usual.
Shano cleared the whole lot, I wimped out at the concreted section after the campsite, but that was the only bit I didnt ride.

Last time I rode it i landed a couple of jumps on my front wheel which it not good for the heart rate level. and i was not even trying to get air. On the way back out (coming back up towards Hornsby there is always this one steep section that I find beats me. too steep and too technical at the same time to stay on. you know the one? about half way up

This week has been the only time I have cleaned it,I am putting it down the damp conditions which gave a lot more traction than normal and Shano keeping me motivated.

Thanks to Gary for pushing on with a worn out middle chainring with a new chain....
We did some good hill work and Gary put in well considering his bike setup...
Just finished washing the mudoff...crikey! It was great riding home covered in sandy mud splotches...no latte for moi!
Time was bang on 1.5hrs ...which is probably about right...any faster and your just hurting too much..
on the big waterbars...you just find yourself heaving back on the bars to get your weight back...man what a workout..
Would love to see this become a regular...come on you know you want to! Smiling

I'm looking to do this ride tomorrow morning. I'll be at the bottom end of Stewart Avenue at about 6:15AM. Any takers?
