New set of wheels? what to go for?
hey guys, ive just had a decent altication with one of those moving trees, really hate it when they just appear infront of me haha.
ok down to business
after buckling the front rim pretty badly on the trance, and an ok pay check from work, im in the market for a new set of rims
my budget is at a max of 450 with no movement really so im looking for the most reliable option i can, remembering they may cop some abuse.
if you guys could point out the sites that i can buy a full wheelset from aswell that would be handy, coz im getting annoyed having to look at buying individual parts of the wheel and then thinking about getting it put together
thanks guys, hopefully my back gets better by the time i got my new rollers : )

26? 29? 27.5?
I've got a set of 29ers for sale. Brand new.
As per here:
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/au/en/fulcrum...
Lemme know if you're interested. I'll put them up for sale soon otherwise.
loud, what internal width are the fulcrum s?
On a Trance 26 I'd go for Mavic EX 500 rims on Hope EvoPro 2's 32 hole. If you want more strength & don't mind a bit more weight go for EX721s.
Reliable & able to adapt to all of the various axle options.
Pushys also had Flow's on Stans hubs for $300 a while back.
I just put a set of 2013 Mavic Crosstrail's on my 2011 Trance.
Got them from Wiggle for $380, delivered in 3 days (F 15mm, R QR).
The best upgrade I could have done...these things are amazing!!!

I have a set of 26 inch TWE wheels that are a year old and I have just taken off a Trance. They are true and weigh about 1650 grams for the pair. I am selling for $250 the pair if interested give me a PM.

also, i dont know which hub setup i want, like 15mm thru axle or qr or what, running 26in. on giant trance 2012 x1
help plz
Looking at the spec on Giant au your bike runs 15mm thru axle front & qr 135 rear.
Have a look at Wiggle & Merlin, both UK sites with good wheel deals & shipping.
As others have mentioned here, Hope Pro 2 is a great option. The Pro 2 front hub has interchangeable centre so you can move it from a QR9 ot QR15 to 20mm thru if needs be.
I just Googled "Giant Trace 2012" and it says you have a QR15 fork. The skewer screws in, from the non-drive side then locks, right?
CRC do custom built wheels so you can choose whatever you want (colours, rims, spokes, etc). I actually have a set of Mavic XM 819 rims built on Pro 2 hubs from them - highly recommended. Bit hard to find the wheel builder links on their new site (doh), so here you go...
Front: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/au/en/hope-pr...
Rear: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/au/en/hope-pr...
Those TWE wheels noted above sound like a good buy if the hubs are compatible and they're true as stated. Chuck in some rim strips and away you go.

hmm i will look at the twe wheels, but ive not heard the name much at all
TWE - Two Wheel Enterprises. Bombproof wheels built by a guy on the East coast. He won't sell you wheels until he has spoken to you and discussed what you want to do. He can build them as light or as heavy as you want, and make them virtually indestructible. Anything can be built for the right price.
Hey Loud,
Are the fulcrums still for sale ?
How much are you looking to sell them for ?

I have a TWE 29er wheelset for sale which is within your budget. These were custom built by Greg from TWE back in June and have 150km on them, they are as new. Weight is 375g for the tubeless rims, built with DT competition spokes (1.8mm) with TWE hubs- front 15mm thru axle, QR rear, wheels weight ~ 1580g/pr
I can vouch for Greg at TWE, he does a fantastic job. Have a set of Crests on his own brand hubs and they weigh in at at just over 1500 grams for a 29 er. I ride xc, light trail and these wheels are brilliant. Give the guy a call, see what he can do for you.
