Event #2 for the Chunderer....surely cant start as bad as Ourimbah where before the end of Lap 1 had failed to unclip 3 times and crashed once....
Will be starting at the VERY back of the pack in my Jelly bean jersey, be nice when you are lapping me!! Looking to break the 50km mark this time.

I've been trying to get to this series all year, it was top of mind when I bought the Scalpel the previous July.
Injury x 1 and illness x 2 have thwarted me so far, but no more! Now I am just woefully under-trained instead.
So my goal for Sunday will simply be to make it to the end after 4 hours solo, while taking in the Mt Annan circuit for the first time. At least there's only 124 metres of climbing per lap. How hard can it be? (Where have I heard that before?)
I'll keep an eye out for the jelly beans.
... was hoping to be there as well, but a couple of practice laps yesterday was enough to liven up a lower back problem that I've been struggling with since a long flight a few weeks ago. Now in the hands of my physio for a while......
@ Hawkeye, might of been a typo but race is on saturday.
I entered last night, 4hr solo open.
missed the last 2 rounds, but had fun in the mud at Awaba.
You be racing against yourself on Sunday the timing tent will still be there and the organisers

Didn't think I'd even race today after waking up with the sniffles yesterday morning and spending the day under the doona shivering. But the day's rest and staying warm seemed to do the trick.
Woke up this morning feeling much better, although the drixine nasal spray was pressed into duty a couple of times during the day. I almost pulled the pin at 2:30 or so, feeling like i was digging myself into a hole, but stopping for some solid food seemed to help a lot more than expected and I pressed on after a short break.
A couple of kilometres into the last lap my chain snapped - first time ever! - so I lost a bit of time fluffing about wondering what to do, getting lots of sympathy from passing riders until one kind soul donated a quick link. It took awhile to get the link out to full length, but I was able to get going again eventually.
It's probably the slowest 50km I've ever done, but I have to say... how much fun is that track? Berms and more berms, flowy singletrack, and those two tabletops made it really hard to wipe the smile off my face.
Need to work out what I'm doing wrong, though - third time in a row I'e come down with a cold in the leadup to one of these events. Inadequate rest and diet are probably in there soemwhere.
Glad you finished Hawkeye a great achievement when feeling under the weather. Regarding contracting recurrent colds I suspect you work or travel in a densely populated area (eg city)?
A common myth people make regarding colds and flu is that "I wasn't wearing enough clothes yesterday...". Incorrect. The cold or flu virus is active for around 48hrs before it produces symptoms. The only way to contract a cold or flu is to be exposed to the virus which is contained in droplet mucus (sneezing, coughing etc). Poor hand hygiene can also contribute to the contracture of the virus.
The average adult experiences 2-3 colds per year because there are many differen strands of the virus. Immune compromise also plays an important part in vulnerability. General fatigue and/or poor diet can be factors.
Poor clothing causes hypothermia not a cold or flu!!
You've just been unlucky Hawkeye
Well done to you and all who entered the race. It's a good, if unrelenting track.
Andy, glad someone else knows it's not being cold that gives you a cold!
Speaking of cold, how's blighty lad?
.
Nice work on 4 hours solo hawkeye. We rode the masters team of 3 7 hour and scored our first win. Very exciting for the boys. There are even suggestions we'll need to change the team name!
Adam, I saw you guys out there, was going to say hello but then... there was more than one of you!
Fantastic result to take the win in such company on what was a surprisingly tough course.
DO NOT change the team name.
Thanks hawkeye.
It is a tough track, not a lot of time to rest. The twisty section at the start of the blue run isn't normally used for racing and it added another very tough bit while removing a fast flowy bit where you used to get a bit of a rest.
There certainly were some fast boys and girls there yesterday. Great day for racing.
Is a good thing Hawkey, My handy man work resulted in the cassette coming lose during the race. As I tinkered with it I got passed by the guy who won our category and I finished second. Bummer !!
