New Shoes
My present SPDs partially disintegrated down at Menai on Sunday so its time to update.
What are people's opinions for some replacement cleat shoes. Budget is around $250.
I'm looking for something thats pretty robust, ok for walking through the rocks and mud (occasionally and sadly this is all too frequent).
Oh and must be orange to colour coordinate with me bike.
Nice

matt, i think you'll be hard pushed getting orange bike shoes mate but specialized do a good priced shoe with some red on them or you could get a pair of fully red addidas shoes but i must admit they are a bit too much to look at! on the shoe subject, im buying some sidi shoes soon and am confused with sizings. im a uk 8.5 which i think is a size different in the u.s. and completely different in europe, 42.5 or something like that? can anyone shed some light on the matter?
Here you go, orange shoes

Assuming you're using an external (Hollowtech II?) type BB then just get the Shimano LX/XT type BB, cheap, fit and forget, works great for ages.
Others are either too expensive for what they are or have annoying problems, like seals popping out on race-face versions I've had.
Having said that, if money were no consideration I'd go for the new Hope BB just for bling factor... http://www.hopegb.com/page_mep_force_17.html
Matt.
I can concur that some BBs have a silly rubber seal that wears out/falls out. The FSA one which came on the Rush lasted only 6 months. Strangly the Token cheap ass one it got replaced with (only thing we could find locally in a hurry) is still going strong, despite being riding in some filthy conditions.
When it does go, it will be replaced with a Shimano one though.
most helpfull on the sizing issue.
Thanks for all the feedback. The Orange bit was TIC but having said that, I like the look of some of those!
Will go and have a look in Wooleys tomorrow.
And then I'll be the kid with new shiney shoes at Menai on Sunday!
