hi all,

have/or are any of you guys currently using any ax-lightness bike parts?

I have been thinking about various upgrades, for instance seat post and saddle whilst trying to stay all carbon

any reviews would be appreciated or any other brands for that matter

thanks,

Have a look at www.bikeradar.com for a story about AX-lightness.

i read that article earlier actually, i have been steadily stalking their web page for a couple months now

love the saddles & seat posts

www.opencycle.com is also another fantastic page, with a few hard tails at around the 7kg mark that use a lot of the ax-lightness equip

I had some spare $$$ as Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic is just the ducks nuts!!-love the look of it & it's lack of weight-on bikes, cars & even have seen Carbon Fibre Javelin spears!!

Think about what you need it for?
If you've lots of spare cash to throw around on a super light steed just to show off to your mates then fine.
If you like bashing round Manly Dam and Red hill every weekend and weigh over 80kgs then stay well clear I'd say.
I know a local shop that was building up one of the Open cycles uber lightweight bikes and one of its AX Lightness rims had a catastrophic failure at a pressure well under the normal range.
It might have been a one off but would it have happened to a standard alloy rim?
Would it Fook!

Im currently at about 64kgs.....slight breeze and I'd fly away!

My bike atm is relatively light for a dualie but mainly as a vocal point for my mates

Good point though, spare cash lying around is something Im in lack off

I agree I find it hard to believe a bike as light as that would stand up to the tougher tracks and a failure such as that doesn't suprise me.....A heck of a lot of cash to fork out for a bike like that!

They are doing some crazy things with it atm!!.....like you said I think we all need to win Lotto!
