My much loved Ibis Mojo SL (Superlight) is up for sale.
It's a 2009 model, large, naked carbon with red links. Upgraded with Lopes links top and bottom, and a custom tuned Fox RP 23 shock.

This bike has been maintained immaculately throughout its life (the full 'whisperer' treatment) and apart from natural scuffs and scrapes is sound with no cracks or creaks.
The rubberised coating on the SL has worn off in places, but it has had a full frameskin set on it since new.

It's available frame only for $900, or with a set of Fox float 140mm RLC forks and headset for $1,190. The forks have been very regularly serviced and have near new seals. They too have a few scuffs, but are still very servicable.

On top of that I have avalable a full 9speed drivetrain available: XTR shifters, front and rear ders; XT cranks & cluster; Hope mono mini brakes; FSA Carbon seat post, and various bars and stems. The extra parts can be discussed as needed.

The bike has been kept in race-spec for most of its life (for 24hr & 100k'ers), and while not new it's still a great bike. Current bike weight is about 11.5 kg with Stans wheels on Hope Pro II hubs with Ikon and Ralph tyres with a healthy dose of stans in each.

The only challenge for the SydneyMob is that I'm in Adelaide now, so viewing is a challenge. Having said that if someone is serious I'm sure we can work out something.

Why am I selling it? Next to the Yeti BigTop 29er and the Ridley Helium SL, there's a new Pivot on the way, so gotta make some space and help pay for the new project!

I can also offer to build up 'your' project bike based around the frame and forks if that helps swing the deal!

Any questions PM me.

Damn I'm tempted by yet another of your hand me downs. Do you want to swap for a slightly used but similarly loved Titus frame? Eye-wink

Whisperer's picture

Sometimes I wish I'd never sold the Titus Racer-X!
But then I wouldn't have had so much fun on the Ibis Eye-wink
But funnily enough, Chris Cocalis, who used to own Titus, now owns Pivot.
There's a new Mach 5.7 Carbon frame sitting behind me at work, and that's going to be the new 'weapon'!

Very envious.

I'm going to pass on the mojo, I was hoping it would be good for a 650 conversion but I see it suffers the same problem as my enduro, not a lot of rear tire clearance which really limits rubber choice.

Good luck with the sale, there one lucky bugger out there that just doesn't know it yet.

Hi all, there's a strong chance I have to come over to Sydney for work on Monday/Tuesday, so if there is some real interest, I can bring the frame & forks over in my luggage.
(and what ever else is needed).

Thanks for the words of support too!

After some further thought, I'm considering selling the whole bike for $2100.
That includes my Stan's/hope wheelset and full running gear.
Doesn't include the pedals, seat or bars shown, but will be other xtr spds, alloy flat or riser bars, and a specialised rival saddle. Given I've got a shed full of bits I can customise it with plenty of options.
IM or give me a call if interested!

Whisperer's maintenance could be called obsessive Sticking out tongue
You will not find a better maintained bike

Hey Kit - what about a 650b front and 26 inch rear
Apparently the roll over capabilities up front with the agile shorter rear end
Dying for someone to give this a go

Have tried that Bloot with the Titus. Didn't really like it compared to the 456 so swapped it back to 26". I only have one set of wheels at the moment.

$2100 for a complete bike is an absolute killer deal. I hope someone jumps on this soon.

Where have you been hiding haven't seen you for sometime or seen a post from you

Two years ago we moved to Adelaide, so yes 'disappeared' from the Sydney MTB scene!
Getting to know all the good trails over here, and up at Melrose.
Been busy with renovations, heaps of road riding in the Adelaide Hills and other projects.
I've been keeping an occasional eye on Nobmob, but not posting much.
I thought the Nobmob community is so strong though, that this would be a great place to pass on the Ibis, or at least get the word out! It's really nice getting comments of support and makes me miss the gang a whole lot more!

Hi, I am interested in the whole bike. Are you in Sydney still?

If not, frame/fork setup.

Hi Daniel,
Great to talk, and I've sent through an email to follow up.
As discussed I really want to keep the wheels, brakes, pedals, bars, stem & and shifters, but will throw in the current drivetrain (XT crank, front and rear XTR derailleurs, XTR chain and XT cluster).
Also confirming the fsa carbon seatpost is included, and I've stuck a WTB Rocket saddle on, and a brand new SLX bottom bracket.
So all you need is wheels, brakes, bars, stem, pedals and shifters.
I have a new-in-box set of deore 9 speed shifters available for $60 if that helps.
Let me know what you think!

Well it was a bittersweet sale, sad to see the Ibis go, but happy to make the sale and now moving on with the Pivot. Long live DW link!
An Adelaide local bought it through my ad on Gumtree.
