Mtb alice springs
Anybody done any riding in alice springs? I've got a day (maybe) spare and would like to check it out, problem one, won't have a bike, problem 2, it will be a Sunday and I'll leaving early morning on the Monday!

I go there for at least 3 weeks every year. I've done the Red Centre Enduro a few times amongst many other races.
I consider it a world class venue for Mtb and I've spoke to Chris Southwood from Flow mag and he rates it very highly ( even above Moab in the USA!)
The local builders, especially one guy are bloody ace and get out there all the time building new trails.
When are you going to be there?
I'll be there on April 13th and will be free from midday onwards. The funny thing is i'll have all my kit except a mtb, as i'm doing a charity road ride starting the next morning from alice to uluru.
Have only had a quick look at what is available to hire, doesn't look overly appealing and maybe is aimed (rightly) at the tourist who wants a bit of a pedal, not a decent hit out of the local trails?
What size bike do you ride?

That would be awesome, although no dramas if it doesn't pan out, I was met with daggers from the hugs and kisses when I mentioned maybe I could go a up a few days early as the mtbing in the Alice is a must do!
I've got both a M & L size bikes as I'm one of those heights that can fit either depending on the brand.
