I'm in for the solo 4 hour.

Lets see if I can stay upright for this race! Smiling

It is raining now but not heavily and the forecast says it will continue to rain until Friday afternoon. Then a change is supposed to bring nice weather for raceday. Based on this forecast the race will be on! The final call will be made Friday morning but we are confident at the moment that we can race.

Looks like I'll be needing swap the front crossmark for something a little more chunky!

If anyone who's going to this has a spare knobbly tyre that they're willing to sell, could you message me and I'll gladly take it off your hands before the race. Part worn isn't a problem either. I just don't think I'm going to have time to get one.

Thanks

We are racing tomorrow!
Track - check. The track has a few puddles and wet spots but is overall in good condition and not waterlogged.
Main access road - check. The main access road is in ok condition - please drive carefully when coming to the event centre.
Carpark - check. The carpark and event centre is not waterlogged.
Weather forecast - check. We do expect a few more showers especially on Friday possibly during the race too. However a few showers don't stop a race, only prolonged heavy rain does and this is extremely unlikely given the current forecast.

Can everyone please bring a wheelbarrow of quality soil to help repair the track after the race. (<----- tongue in cheek)

In all seriousness, I live around the corner from Awaba , and the hills are very very wet. Awaba does handle rain well, but you'll need some chunky tires. And a hose down afterwards!

and still getting wetter...
Just because its already been cancelled doesn't mean it couldn't have been canned again.
I'm sure the promotors will be back next week fixing the trails up?

Just drove pass awaba an hour ago. On my way home. Raining ,not as hard as Sydney. But consistent. The road was wet. With puddles of water. This my home club track. To many people put to much work in to maintain these great trails. Long jeopardy of these trails is more important than one race.

What's HMBA's stance on the conditions and the race going ahead?

Its been raining all week. Can't imagine down in the salad bowl is that dry. Especially the reverse climb up the clay hill out. Chris Chris what's your view? He lives the closest at coorangbong

I live in Cooranbong and Awaba is my local track. I was out there on Tuesday arvo and the track only had a few puddles in the usual places but after the last two days I think it may be fairly wet.Awaba does drain well but I think the rain only stopped in the early hours this morning. I am not sure if the race will be on.

I haven't seen Awaba in a few days. After some light to medium rain, the track holds up well. But after 3 days of consistent rain... And the rain last week, well, I'll be staying off for a while.

The race officials do work with the HMBA, so I'll leave it I their hands. They're the guys & gals who put in the hard yards for this brilliant track.

I'm not looking to offend anyone or judge their decisions, but my 2c opinion is too wet.
