Lost Multi Tool etc

Hey all,

Thought I'd put this up under the off chance anyone's seen it.

I idiotically left my toolbag open when I went on the ride below yesterday morning and my of course, everything fell out - a tube, patch kit and a multitool. I like the multi tool as it has a chainbreaker, spoke key and tyre levers attached so would like to see if I can get it back if possible as I haven't seen any other of those tools. It most likely fell out at the start of the firetrail in N Wahroonga so anyone who'd like to keep an eye out for it, any yellow-sided tool (or tube or patchkit) is most likely to be mine. Not a crisis, but thought I'd better check.

PS, I ALMOST put my phone in my toolbag at the start of the ride. How lucky am I Eye-wink

I stopped using them awhile back. The zipper came open by itself one day and fortunately a ride buddy spotted before anything shook out. That was the last time I used one off road.

These days it all goes in the Camelbak, or a jersey pocket if I'm lap racing with the tube and CO2 taped to the seatpost.

For the roadie I have a nice little Bontrager pouch with tube, CO2, patches, mutitool and levers that fits nicely in the jersey, although it weighs a bit.

True, I know about zippers undoing themselves, but this time was completely my fault. Normally I cable tie the tube/CO2 and put everything else in my pocket. It's nice doing rides without a camelbak if I don't have to - it turns my back into a sweaty mess, don't you think?

Yep I prefer doing lap races bareback. Camelbaks - even the best ones - significantly increase the heat load.

Unfortunately only one bottle cage mount on the dually means it's hard to go without a CB on long trail rides. I gave up trying to find a triathlon style seatpost bidon cage that wasn't going to skewer the family jewels on techy descents. They just don't seem to be any at a realistic price. Sad

FYI Tristian I went through LCNP this morning along Devlins Ck and no sign of any orphan toolkits, tubes etc. I was, however, unlucky enough to put a stick through my XT Shadow plus derailleur on KP road (of all places) and bend the mech quite badly. Might be able to straighten it myself but I think Im up for a new one Sad

Wahroonga is my other 'local trail' so will keep an eye out for you.
