You're not meant to ride down Devines Hill of course, only up it. Reckon you'd be better off Riding up Shepherds and all the way to the Buddist temple for some water (you could have already filled up at St Albans), then up to Clairs Bridge and a bit further before turning round and rocketing down WCT to the end.

Or you could scum all the way to the bottom of WCT from St Albans, getting water at the ferry before heading up WCT and on to Clairs Bridge.

Either way, sounds a bit of a physical challenge. Shame it's trail maintenance that day! Eye-wink

... I can't make it (yeah right, as if!)

Track maintenance for me as well.

I have a hair appointment that day.
I'll see if I can cancel, but don't wait for me.

A hair appointment...Isn't that a female excuse?

Andy Bloot's picture

And I'm having my nails done as well
Which is why I don't really want to cancel the appointment
It took me ages to get the booking
And I've broken so many nails lately they look a fright

Didn't you come very close to becoming a girl by accident?

Andy Bloot's picture

Damn mountain biking
So hard on nails (amongst other thing)

Prey tell... how was this epic?

The ride was excellent, we started the ride in the same direction as a couple of weeks ago, had our first real stop at the bottom of Devines hill were we refilled with drink. The climb up the Western Commission track is a killer, makes Andos look like a little pinch hill but looking forward to doing it again before DW.
All up distance was only between 70-80km but without any real rest breaks.
Thanks to Steve for organising.
