Which tracks to start with ?

G'day,

I'd like to ride on a couple of Northern Beaches/Sydney tracks over the easter long weekend with my new Giant X1 but when I go to the rides section there are so many I don't know where to start...

I've already done the Manly Dam last Saturday which was a bit too technical and dangerous for a first time (fell off a few times because of uncleated shoes lol). I'd like to ride on some easy fire trails/single tracks not too technical so I can get used to the bike and the new stem I've just replaced and also learn to uncleat the shoes more quickly.

Cheers,

Rides in order of easiest first:

Bairne Track
Lady Carrington Drive (in RNP)
Bobbin Head
Terrey Hills Perimeter (plus Long if you have the fitness)

Technical stuff to avoid:

Red Hill
Oxford Falls
Salvation Tracks

The others are sort of inbetween or are too short to worry about.

Terry Hills. Try Perimeter and Long trails.

If it rains between now and when you ride then start at the Japanese School on Booralie Rd otherwise start at the shops.

Have fun

not wearing cleats - i blame HAVING them to make you fall off!!!
if you wanted to be super dooper easy you could do Narrabeen Lakes (hee hee) but the others missed out Duck Ponds and Centre Tracks, they are fun!
all the trails they have told you have no rocks in them at all!!!

MEEE Smiling

Also Duck Holes and Centre tracks. One hell of a road climb between the two tracks but it's all good training.

Bobbin Head trail is also dead flat until the end.
All these can be found in the Rides section here.

I also found a nice network of trails starting from the end of Mcrae Pl here:

The track seems freshly laid. Smoothest firetrail I have been on so far!
