Details:

Official opening of stage 2 trails. And Lee from Nomadic Cafe will be there with the pedal - powered coffee cart serving his excellent brews!

30/5 Update from SNORC:

Come along and support the opening of stage 2. As a thank you to those companies that have paid to hold demo days in the past, Council have invited them to setup from 10AM onwards to show off their machines. There will be a BBQ that the club will cook up (starting midday) and the Coffee Nomad Dude will be there as well. It will be held at the bottom of the fire trail road, down near the green loop.

Note that if it rains we will be postponing the event till the 22/6.

Hey, its starting to sound like an unofficial bike festival! Now there's an idea, perhaps this is a warm up to something bigger in 2015. Imagine a place where you can test any bike of your dreams, back to back, nice.

What the hell, I'll come along and do some skids - as well as probably getting schooled by JP on the trail - I reckon he knows this loop better than the walk from his bedroom to his bathroom!!

Well it's true I've ridden there almost every weekend since it opened, but you wouldn't know it from my skills... I really should be faster!

But it's a fun trail and even better with the new stage 2. By linking it up with a few other local trails you can get in a really decent training ride around this area now.

Is it raining / wet up there? Or still fine to go ahead?

I rode the new section with 10+ other riders that were there last Saturday.
It reminds me of a an actual rollercoaster ride, except you're on 2 wheels and you can go as fast as you can Smiling

With the weather?

For me, at least, if it's postponed, I'll be able to make it on the revised date!

"Stage 2 Trail Opening on 22/6 has been Postponed Until Further Notice.

Following the cancellation of the original opening of the mtb trails, a number of riders ripped down the barrier and trashed the soft clay sections. These had just been repaired and hardened. Unfortunately the sections had not firmed up and so the damage was pretty bad. Council/SNORC hasn't been able to repair the damage as yet and so Council have postponed the official opening indefinately. Stage 2 will be open to riders once it dries out. We will keep you posted re a new date for the official opening event in the future."

These goons pulling away the barriers embarrass the sport that we all know and love. You've got to wonder why...
