Break in the new bike
Believe it or not the bike shop tells me that my bike is finally in after 5 months of waiting! I'll pick it up tonight hopefully.
Tien tells me he will be riding Saturday afternoon...possibly a long one. I'm not sure if I can hang around for hours but I'll definitely try and take the bike out for a spin. Track will most likely something around Terrey Hills. Nothing too technical until the brakes bed in and I get a feel for it.
Well if you interested give me a call or reply here.

I could be tempted!
I might be up for something Saturday arvo but I probably wont know until Saturday.
It's unlikely Stuart. But if I am free tomorrow night then I'll give you a call.
The trails should be dry enough for your carbon contraption to make a showing
i might be up for a saturday arvo ride. Terry hills sounds good to me.
Any chance of saturday morning tho ?
Yeah I might be up for a morning ride too, or afternoon if that's what happening. Let me know...
Give it 1 month, then you'll be after a rigid fork hardtail for racing right? SS?
Finally mate! hehe, you're gonna LOVE IT!!!
Brian, I dunno if the trails can handle two X0's at once..... They are such a rare breed, they may not get along
haha
Loz
Damn it. I am now going have to share the attention I have been getting
Was informed today that I have to wait till week 15 (we are near the end of 13 now). Do you remember which date you ordered?
I did on 21/11/07
also, i heard that the top silver part maybe covered in a lacquer and look shiny/different?
I'll be at the South End of Kissing Point Road to do Lane Cove at Friday 16:30 if your up for it with a friend or two.
so maybe 3 more months for you Noel!
hahahaha
and go for a test ride to let you know how it goes.
Anything for a mate and all
I think we ordered it in September or October so that must be why I got mine in week 13.
Just picked it up tonight. Haven't had a chance to do much with it....just a spin around the backyard. Will try it out properly on Saturday hopefully. Unfortunately I can't do Friday arvo Noel.
Just a note. Mine didn't come with the Michelin tyres as stated on the Giant website. I got some Maxxis Crossmark Exceptions instead.
And Stuart, thanks for the offer. Next time you buy a carbon duallie I'll go pick that up for you
hehehheehehehe
you must be popping mega wheelies and endos and manuals now mate!!
no more hardtail bike excuses hey? heheheh %_%
bang!
Put the ride up now

I also just took delivery of my new Trance.
Is your'se the old 08 or the new 09 that I have.
It weighs 10kg, full XTR, Tyreless, carbon less, 12" travel, air bags, testicle hugging seat & handle bar tassles
and only cost $2,700 ?
Greg
Nice Greg! But does it come with blue LED valve covers?! If not then it's no better than your Reign!
So that comes in just a touch lighter than Stuart's precious carbon hardtail then!
Not of yours but it sounds like you're a little envious of the hardtail mate. Pity cause you could have built one for the same money you just dumped on the Giant and been riding it for the last 3 months
Buck with a super light, state of the art dually you now have nothing to blame but the engine. You should have followed the wily tactics of Stuart, Bernd and me, who have all gone from dually to hardtail so we have a ready made excuse for lagging at the back or taking the soft option.
Damn, knew i should have stuck with that 14kg hardtail!
bugger!
I think you over-estimate the ability of the guy that will be powering this new bike!
Well we'll see how much faster if any it makes me tomorrow.
Hey Greg,
Never seen a tyerless bike before
Benny
If you want a break in your new bike there's only one person I'd ask, he might struggle with a Giant though .
Hah nice one Matt. Don't underestimate the breaking powers of Lorrie though
Well I'm pleased to report that the first ride went very well. Good to see some new faces turn up. Also good to see some young faces so keen on this sport. Good on you guys.
Riding my first duallie sure is a very different experience. By the end of the ride I was getting lazy and just sitting down and letting the suspension soak up everything. Much easier than getting out of the saddle all the time! Also losing 3kg in bike weight sure made riding a lot easier. For once I can actually still actually see Tien riding in the distance where as before he'd be gone in no time!
Climbing was good too. It only felt a bit mushy when I got out of the saddle to pedal but I guess any duallie would feel like that compared to a hardtail.
Overall it was great fun. Now time to try it out at the Dam tomorrow before the trail maintenance.
Enjoyed meeting you all... Ben - hope you enjoy your new bike - it looks and goes fast!
BTW: Paul (SS) got me interested in joining the weekly nightride - anyone game to lend me some night-lights for a trial run before I invest in some serious Ay-ups?
See you on the trails...
Rgds, Hans
hey nice to finally hit the trails on a ride with you all. It was freat, will definitely be keen on another ride:). As for a light hans, khatmandu sell miners lamps for pretty cheap and these light the trail up well without breaking the bank balance.
Thanks Buck for organising the ride and to all that joined in it was great to meet you. Looking forward to some more of the same. Glad to hear you made it back Hans.
I'll also make sure I replace my tyres this week to prevent another sidewall blowout!!
Cheers, Mark
Don't forget the note Mark, there's at least 1 beer in that.
