I don't think I'll ever be brave enough to ride MD/BB at night Shocked
Don't know how you do it? TH is just fine for me!
Enjoy Smiling

LadyToast's picture

I have just got a set of these from torpedo and am keen to test them out. They reckon a burn time of 1.3 full or 2.5 half beam so might be up for a ride, just to work it all out, at least for the MD loop.

christine's picture

if I can do it you can... they are the best fun rides, really really fun...
i will be there armed with my beeeeeer Smiling

MEE Smiling

pikey's picture

If Christine can do it with a glass of chardy under her belt Eye-wink any regular MTBer can do it.

Justin's picture

A flask with a hose attached in the backpack?

pikey's picture

....the flask and hose idea from her otherwise she would never leave the carpark Eye-wink

Paul's picture

You guys have obviously not watched what she puts in her 3 litre camelback - a hip flask and hose is for amateurs.

She does have problems sucking the olives through the bite value though?

Stuart M's picture

why do leave the door so wide open for me? Look away, look away.....I must be strong

On a more serious note I think I will be joining you alcoholics, sorry, athletes on this ride

Paul's picture

The planets are aligned so I can make this ride - now I need the rain to stop.

ar_junkie's picture

Before you start breaking out into various renditions of "Love is all around", it has been raining most of today (not sure how much rain the Dam got yesterday) so you might want a plan B...

Use it, don't use it...
Eye-wink

LadyToast's picture

There is a shower or two forecast for tomorrow then a clear day on Wed, but it not looking sunny enough to dry it all out in time at the moment.

Plan B could be a good idea just in case, what about Deep Creek? Would be amazing at night I reckon. Or is that just insane?

Rob's picture

Plus... Deep Creek is illegal, etc, etc.

LadyToast's picture

Didn't know that Sad

This must be part of the recent NPWS crackdown right? I real shame, I've only done it once and put it right up at the top of my fave local tracks.

pikey's picture

Yes we need a plan B if Tuesday gets rain.

a) Ride / Beer in Bottle = Manly Dam good to ride Smiling

b) Ride / Beer on tap = We do Terry Hills or other off shoots leaving from Terry Hills Tavern Smiling

c) Beer / Beer = Pissing down everywhere. Sad

d) Beer / Ride = See post about taping wife on shoulder Sticking out tongue

Paul's picture

I'm keen to get in a ride this week and it looks like Tuesday and Wednesday are going to have the best weather we get all week, even the weekend is looking suspect.

I'm happy with any of the above options, but I prefer 'a' and 'b' - (Pikey, that was a very generous offer (option 'd'), but it's a school night).

lozza6's picture

Happy to do A if the track is dry, otherwise B sounds good as a safe bet.

Paul, you need to dust the webs off your yeti! Smiling

Stuart M's picture

to let everyone come over and tap her on the shoulder if its too wet to ride?

Paul's picture

True, the Yeti hasn't had much action lately and I will have to take it for a spin before the Dirtworks to get used to the gears and a dually again - I'm loving the simplicity of the SS.

pikey's picture

Morgan.
If your ride starts at 7:15 pm from the Terry Hills Shops then that gives you 11 mins to join our start at the Tery Hills Tavern Smiling

christine's picture

wonder why i ride with you guys at all - you are most rude - and anyway, the majority of my drinking is on a social friday or saturday night when i am led astray with my other friends...
humph
however! in reality my bike is in the shop - I KNOW don't all faint from shock - i suffered mild anxiety leaving her there but doubt she will be back with me for Wednesday nights ride...

i could meet you at the pub - no! no! no! this is an alcohol free week...

maybe...

Smiling

Bernd's picture

"other friends..." ? please explain!!
Bernd

lozza6's picture

Sorry guys, can't shake this head cold so am also pulling the pin on this one

lozza6's picture

but it seems TH has stayed quite dry?

Whats the go mate? Coming to the tail end of the day now....

Loz

LadyToast's picture

Has anyone been to the Dam recently? I'm still keen on a loop of that, as long as it's not raining and it's not water logged.

What is the official word now? Terry Hills?

ar_junkie's picture

T Hills to be exact!
Even though its been dry today there were a few sprinkles last night and early this morning... I'm sure the Dam will still be wet in places and not worth the damage to the track...

lozza6's picture

dont feel like sloshing my bike through mud today....

I might join Morgan on his ride?

LadyToast's picture

Agree about the track damage limitation.

I'm not a big drinker in the week so I'll probably be up for the T Hills Blat with Morgan as well. Wow wouldn't Smiths be fun in the dark? Smiling

Paul's picture

As much as I was looking forward to Bantry Bay at night, I agree with Shaun that TH is the most responsible option.

Pikey just wondering if option 'd' still on the table?

lozza6's picture

I dont think I can keep up with Morgan @ 20kph avg... so Pikey.. organise a second more cruisy TH ride? Maybe duck centre both ways? They are the driest tracks.....

LadyToast's picture

So what's the official word the pikey?

Meeting place and time?

lozza6's picture

Terry Hills Tavern carpark at 7:15

I realise all the rides have been canceled now, but I still want to ride....

I'm thinking of doing duck and centre both ways....

Call me if you want to join, my number is in my profile.

Cheers,
Loz

Pikey Smiling

Tom_B's picture

so I wont be there but it's been reasonably dry the past few days in TH so the tracks should be fairly dry.

Harry's picture

wasn't able to pick my bike up before 6 so will miss this week.

LadyToast's picture

still waiting for my car to arrive, so might not be able to make it.....

I'll call Loz if I am on the way.

Paul's picture

Sorry guys I thought Pikey canned the ride, so Im sitting at home having a beer.

Such is life

Noel's picture

My bros bucks was last weekend so I'm out of "Get out of home" credits.

lozza6's picture

Ended up just being Pikey and I....

I also thought Greg canned it.. but "Cancelled" only applied to the Manly Dam side of things....

Was a good ride and we finished off duck and centre quick enough to make it back in time for the bistro! Smiling

Good eats Sticking out tongue

Cheers,
Loz

pikey's picture

Thanks Lozza for the ride Eye-wink

now time for a smoke

Greg

PS: yes I probably could have worded the ride change a little differant. I'm a tradesman not a bloody word smith Smiling
