Back burning in the cascades 5th October

There was a monster of a plume of smoke coming out of the Cascades and then an article in the SMH. Has anyone ridden there this morning? Are all the trails open?

Thanks,.

Even if the fires are out, the burnt area will be throwing off volatiles that can make you pretty sick.

A few years ago my cousin and I rode through a recently burnt forest area near Old Bar. Even though we were only in there for 10-15 minutes or so before beating a retreat, I was not in a good way later that night. The smells were quite strong. He felt off too, although not to the same degree.

It may not affect others as much, but I would not be keen on repeating that experience. I'd wait until after the next decent rains.

It wasn't in cascades, it was east of forest way. And yes it indeed broke containment lines and burnt right up to a mates property boundary.
Cascades is completely fine at this point in time.
