Bike racks (was I'll be coming thru Pymble)

I normally put my bike on the back seat (on a thick old sheet) with the front wheel off.

I can bring my rack thing but am not 100% it will fit on it. Some duelies do, some don't. It's a hatch back rack, not a tow-bar one. We can try. If it does not work I can tow you there! Have you done 70 km/hour on it yet?

Distance c/l to c/l of the 2 poles is: 400 mm

Well I dunno if its any help, but Ive got a Specialized stumpjumper....if you're at all familiar with the frame design? I assume the bike's top tube rests across the 2 poles? I'll measure it up and see if it might squeeze on...buggered if im riding there. A lift would be greatly appreciated!!!

Getting towed at 70km an hour sounds like more fun. Maybe I should just go for that option lol?

The Stumpy's not the easiest bike to put on a bike rack. I bought one of those bars that goes from the seat to the handlebar stem which makes it a breeze on the rack. The one I bought clicks on rather than using nuts and bolts which makes it even easier. $30 from St Ives Cycles. Highly recommend it.

If you know what I mean? Eye-wink

For the rack... was that a Thule branded one or something else you got from St Ives?

Hi Rob

It's unbranded but seems well made. I've put a photo up so you can see it

Cool... although Pratiwi's bike is very small am not convinced even something like this would work for it. Her bike fits at the mo though... just... but other people have a few issues so it's something that would be useful for sure.

It's not easy deciding what's the best solution for carrying bikes. I have to take 4 bikes at times but mostly it's just my own. The old Mac-Rack was just a pain with 4 bikes and this has just made it so much easier to get going.

Once I get a ride together with my son and friends I have four bikes to carry now with a 3 bike rack that attaches to the tow ball...I was thinking about getting the roof racks bike carriers just to allow me to carry 2 on the roof...are these a good buy?
