Singletrack Mind Series Round 1
Wylde MTB Car park and Trail head is just off Elizabeth drive located next to the Sydney International (Cecil Park) Shooting Centre. The turn off can be found on the left 3km Due west from the M7 Motorway or on the right 600m Due East from Mamre Road.
The Singletrack Mind Series features three mountain bike endurance events of 7 and 4 hours duration. They will take you to three different locations in NSW, each one renowned for its flowing dingletrack and fun factor.
The newly built Wylde MTB Park is the most highly anticipated MTB facility in Sydney and located near the MTB course for the 2000 Olympics. We’re really stoked about kicking off the series here for 3 reasons: it’s a great track, we’ll be hosting the first major event for the track and it’s also part of the Evocities Series. Boom!

Fi and Joe put on a great day, so if you haven't tried MTB racing, this is as good a place to start.
Fingers crossed for a dry day, as Wylde doesn't take kindly to moisture...
Hope this goes ahead. I'm looking forward to another 4 hour race.
Is there a plan b if Wylde is too wet to race on?
With Wylde's Facebook page saying "open", and weather forecast looking good up to and including Sunday, I think we can be confident all will be going to plan A. But don't blame me if the weather fairies don't play nice!
A bit of rain last night, especially around coastal sydney.

SINGLETRACK MIND SERIES @ WYLDE IS GO!
Joe's just done a recce lap at Wylde and while its a tad slippery right now the sun is out and the track is drying off well. Good weather is forecast from now through to the end of a racing so WE ARE ON PEOPLES! The sunny parts of the track we expect to be super grippy, some shady parts might remain a little slippery so we'd advise to bring at least a good grippy front tyre. Registration will be available from 3.30 - 5.30 today.
They would not accept late entry to the race so to compensate myself for that disappointment I went and did a few laps of it today instead. First time I rode it and it was friggin' awesome. The once racing tomorrow will have the best conditions you can hope for. Only a few small little mud patches, most probably gone by tomorrow. No loose bits just perfect grip throughout.
Enjoy it racers - you are up for a treat.
Had a fun day out at Wylde yesterday, despite waking up with a bit of a headache that didn't go away.
My first time riding the trail and I really enjoyed it! Some really fun descents mixed in with the climbs and a few little jumps too. Trail was in perfect nick.
I did the 4hr, hoping for an easier day, forgetting that the shorter, faster race is probably harder for a diesel like myself and I was pretty stuffed afterwards! 21st in category, not an outstanding result but not too bad either.
Looked like there was a fairly bad crash out on course, hope the chap is OK.
